Nice room and good thermal heated pools. Restaurant ok but standard type food. Some good beers.

I booked a room a while back and informed staff that I would be checking in late at a certain time. The reception agreed to the check in time and there were no issues. However, when I arrived to check in the staff informed me that they had given away my room. First of all, this is a completely unprofessional and irresponsible action to take. Never in all my travels and stays at various hotels has this ever occurred to me. Such an occurrence highlights the incompetence and unprofessional nature of the staff and the manager whom had the audacity to simply inform me "we gave away the room to someone who needed it more now could you please vacate the premises". You should not stay at this hotel at all, even if this is just a single incident such an issue should never occur at any hotel especially with the approval of management.

Spire Elite membership was honored and we were upgraded to a King room. Had a view of the geysers! The bed was very comfy and our room was quiet. Staff was wonderful, they even brought up towels and a robe straight to our room! Finding a parking spot was a hassle - my husband ended up parking at the Maori Village and walking back to the hotel. I don't recommend ordering the room service breakfast. It was a debacle! Took an hour and 45 minutes to arrive, food was cold, omelette was overcooked and brown, no butter or jam provided for toast, only 1 set of utensils provided for 2 meals. They did comp it due to the delay, but we were still disappointed.

I enjoyed my stay here. The locations right next to a Maori village. Great for sight seeing. Thermal swimming pool is nice if you do not want to take hourly shuttle to downtown. I would return.

Great rooms for a family or romantic getaway with top views. Hotel management make your stay welcoming and accommodating. Excellent room service for breakfast is well worth the treat.

Comfortable enough. A little run down. Food was average. Cold coffee. Friendly service, comfy bed and seem to have decent facilities though (heated pool)

Very comfortable stay. Nice quality linen and a great bed. The free pool and spa pools are thermally heated and are awesome. The usual Rotorua Pong everywhere you go. Didn't try the Restaurant or Bar but found the check-in staff polite and efficient. If you're back to the Hotel later in the evening you might find yourself parking on the street outside. There are lots of parks but it's a big Hotel.

The hotel was clean and well maintained. The employees were friendly. The guest rooms were spacious. Some had nice views of thermal activities. It's close by 2 Maoi villages.

Our stay here was fantastic! There was a mix up with our reservation at check-in but Thomas did an amazing job of sorting everything out and made sure out stay was seamless thereafter. Great breakfast and attentive staff. Highly recommended place to stay.

Nice hotel, but a bit busy at times. Nice buffet dinner tonight to pig out on.
We extended our stay for one extra night and had to change rooms. The new room was larger, however it was much more noise from the carpark and the beds in the new room were like trying to sleep on a partially inflated jumping castle. Try and get the rooms with number 600 and below. Room numbers 600+ are in a newer anex to the hotel but have much more noise and very soft beds.
Tour coaches seem to turn on the engines and leave them running early in the day, so not nice to wake up to.
Apart from that, lovely food, very clean and nice gym and pool. Perfect location for thermal attractions.response / report this review -

Excellent hotel in every way, clean, comfortable, friendly staff and unbelievably good food. Having arrived in NZ on Monday and stayed in a hotel in Auckland which was horrible, this place was a breath of fresh air. The breakfast is unbeatable anywhere! Every single thing you could ask for is available in the breakfast buffet. We did not eat another bite until tea time after our delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone

A modern looking hotel, however lacking attention to detail. There was no fan nor window in the bathroom, meaning everything fogged up, the paint on the door was peeling and the door itself was swelling up. The curtains were not black out curtains, meaning at sunrise we were woken up by the bright room. Wifi is only free if you sign up to some marketing company that will likely hassle you with emails all the time. The beds however were comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly, however a bit robot like and lacking personality.
