We had a wonderful stay. My wife booked us as a bit of a lark, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The hosts managed the fine line between allowing us our privacy and interaction. The views are stupendous, although it was a bit rainy while we were there. The breakfast was outstanding. Highly recommended!

We only spent one night here due to Christchurch flight commitments but the stay was well worthwhile. Jim & Mary suggested we drive the area as we arrived a little earlier than planned. Mt Cook was incredible and the views sensational. Great BnB, very clean, very quiet, large rooms with ensuite and that homely feel you don't get in larger hotels. We had the continental breakfast but others ordered bacon, eggs, pancakes..Jim was onto it !! Poppy's was their suggestion in town for dinner and can recommend that as welltry the ice cream !!!!

I did not actually manage to stay at this property but was looking for accommodation in Twizel on the fly. Unfortunately there was an event on in town this particular time and there was not much good accomodation available. Mary , the host, had no availability for my family & I, but she went beyond the call by helping me find a good place to stay, phoning other facilities till we got somewhere. Her homestead was beautiful, spacious, warm & welcoming, and I told her next time I was intending coming to the south island I would be booking well in advance. Thank you for your help Mary & we shall see you the next time we pass thru.

I just completed a motorcycle trip all around South Island, New Zealand. Of all the places I stayed along the way, I enjoyed the Heartland Lodge the most. Jim & Mary are two of the nicest and friendliest people I have met. I highly recommend their B&B as an excellent place to stay in Twizel. It's very close to Mt Cook and in the surrounding area there are plenty of activities.

What a awesome place to stay so clean & tidy and very spacious
we where greeted with a friendly welcome by Jim and Mary who are awesome. The breakfast meals were very delicious as well. You guys are great thank you heaps for your kind hospitality. We will certainly be back & recommend others come stay too.
