I purchased a 2011 Santa Fe from this dealer. I have had quite a bit of trouble with it, an electrical fault to begin with, and then a very costly problem with the downhill assist. Throughout the dealership staff have been courteous and have fixed problems at no or little cost to me. Service is timely and the courtesy vehicles have been late model Santa Fe trucks. I am very pleased I purchased this vehicle from a dealer.

I have 2 Hyundai's and have had all the servicing done there since new, I have found the staff helpful and have been extremely helpful with any questions or issues. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and will continue to go back there.

They did a WOF in June 2014 for the previous owner of a car that I purchased in July. They passed it with cracked engine mounts. I paid my mechanic to fix it, but he said it should have NEVER passed. Unfortunately, I brought it back to them for the next WOF (as my mechanic is on holiday) and they dicked me around saying I have a steering rack leak (which was very minor, mostly just grease) and FAILED it! So, they MUST be compromised. They are criminals and should NOT be trusted. I wouldn't take my car there even if it was the last garage in Christchurch. Would give them a 0.

I had my Santa fe in their workshop for repairs. The bill come to $976 only to find two days later that I still had the same problem. When I went back to see them they wanted me to pay $165 to be rediagnosed on their machine. I found it really hard trying to communicate with them as were not too forthcoming with information. I feel that all they are interested in was how much money they could get me to pay. I would not recommend Gary Cockram Hyundai Ltd to anyone in regards to car repairs or servicing. I like Hyundai and they are great cars, unfortunately I haven't found Gary Cockram Hyundai Ltd living up to the standard of the Hyundai name. Be careful in dealing with them and get them to explain simply about any work you want them to do on your vehicle , or you may end up having a similar experience to mine.
