Clearly 5 star for families, beautiful building with lots of free brochures. For trampers looking for unbeaten tracks the employees are unusefull and inaccurate, they just try to dissuade you to do harder tramping cause of the lack of their experience. A library with internet connection will be more useful for experienced trekkers.

These people are amazing. 2 wonderful staff rescued me from the Kepler trackSusan and Heather. I am so grateful for their kindness and caring. I want to thank them tomorrow the bottom of my heart. Their lovely boss meet us and drove us all back to Te Anau. Without a doubt the best place and staff ever!!!

Very helpful staff, good selection of pamphlets, maps and little gifts. Went there to inform them of someone regularly feeding kea, they were glad I let them know, seemed very concerned and said they'd do their best to catch the guy. These people do an awesome job helping visitors and NZ wildlife alike.

Nice visitor Centre but not so very useful for me. I got there 5 minutes after they closed just to ask 2 questions about Milford track. Staff came to the door and instead of answering my questions she told me " We are closed, come back tomorrow".

We bought some hut tickets for an off season tramp. The weather was iffy so the staff member told us if we cut our hike short she would give us fresh hut tickets to use at a different time. We ended up using a camp site and then returning to town, didn't stay in any huts. The same staff member then told us that the tickets were non refundable and that she couldn't exchange them for undated tickets to use later on. So we lost 60 bucks. Keep that in mind if you're planning a hike in bad weather

Loads of useful info available, multiple languages covered. Good range of souvenirs on hand. Lots of tramping info available.

Knowledgeable staff helped us plan a hike. Good amount of parking to leave a car for the day, downside is it's very busy. Had a great walk along the lake

Was cool to have museum exhibits on-site and staff were friendly. Was a long wait to buy a hut ticket, but understandable given the amount of people in the centre. Really helpful having the computers to check doc websites and metservice available for public use, wish all centres have that!
