We did the heli trip to Luxmore hut with some fantastic sightseeing on the way. A quick pickup and friendly office staff and pilot. The hike down from Luxmore hut back to Te Anau was a highlight along with the helicopter trip

You have to experience the fjords from up high to appreciate the size and beauty of the landscape. We decided to visit Milford Sound on our own and take the cruise to get the view from "below", and then took a heli-tour of the Dusky and Doubtful Sound fjords.. that allowed us to see all the highlights, and it was spectacular.
The staff were very friendly, helped us reschedule a few times to get the best weather, and the pilot was top notch and knew his stuff. We did two landings (one on top of a mountain, one in a valley) and both spots were really scenic. All in all, an amazing experience.
The helicopter tours are definitely on the expensive side, but it is money well spent. A slightly cheaper option is to take the plane, but then you don't get the landing, and those were well worth it -- we snapped some beautiful shots from otherwise inaccessible locations.response / report this review -

Took the Dusky and Doubtful sound tour and it was seriously breathtaking! It is on the pricy side but it was totally worth it, definitely a memorable experience! 😍
