I made a deposit when booking of 220.00 to secure a place for 11 people. I was not sent a reciept of this, but was reassured it would be noted next to my name. It wasn't and so we were massively overcharged and had to ask for this money back.
During the week our party of 11 had reduced down to 9, so I rang and informed them of this and was told that we would just pay less on the day for the total bill; this also did not happen and we were charged the deposit for the two people who couldn't make it, so we overpaid by $40.00.
Information, communication and customer service needs alot of work.
A perfectly good dining experience was spoiled by the drama that enveloped us at the end of our meal, and for this reason I wouldn't return.

food is ok. Went there twice, one for lunch and today for high tea. Cost me $40 ppl, to be honest I don't feel it is worth for $40. Don't recommend this high tea!

Would definitely not return. Expensive high tea booked well in advance for a very special family celebration made clear when booking. We were put at the worst table at the back away from windows by a draughty toilet door with people walking in and out constantly. Service was erratic and inattentive. We ordered bubbles which never came and tea was taken away when hot water was requested to top/heat it up! Nothing wrong with the food but cold tea and didn't feel particularly welcome. Was supposed to be a memorable occasion but just disappointing.

We came last Sunday for High Tea and that was PERFECT ! the Staff was very helpful and kind even on a busy day like Sunday, the Food excellent and the price affordable compared to all the other High Tea places in Auckland.
Thank you we will be back.

We had a nice afternoon high tea with family and kids from overseas. A few sweet desserts (beautiful hazelnut meringues and lemon tarts) were left overs because we were so full so we had it packed in a doggy bag to take home. However the nice experience was absolutely ruined by a careless waitress knocking it over while clearing the table and dropped it on the floor just before we left. The manager didn't and said he couldn't compensate us with any refunds. Considering we spent not a small sum for high tea, not being able to provide us with any compensation for the crushed expensive high tea desserts was disappointing. Paying for $40 for each adult and $20 per child is quite expensive. Dont think I would recommend unless you are visitors from overseas and don't mind spending that much for afternoon tea.

There were 25 of us for the high tea and we could not fault the experience. The staff were efficient and friendly. The food was fantastic - so much tempting treats - from tiny quiches to chocolate mousse in little jars topped with raspberries. We all agreed that the whole experience was brilliant.

Quite a shock to see this terrible modernisation to a lovely iconic building, not even in sympathy with the original - should not have been allowed to vandalise it into something that could have been anywhere. It's cold and uninviting. We only wanted a cup of tea, and there was no attempt to tempt us to something more. Tea was OK but very expensive at $5 each, and not even in a nice cup! Tragic! It could have been done so well. Will not return.

Visited many times since reopening. Service was always superior. Food is exceptional and the executive chef is inspired in his choices. I also enjoy the seasonal menu changes.

The food was not good and we spent $330 for 7 people. A big disappointment for my family we will never go there again. Best to avoid. Andy
