Love the romantic vibes here, the lavender fragance is peaceful. Highly recommended the fish of the day, curry and salad. We will be back❤️
Unfortunately weren’t able to get in for a wine tasting (for the third time) even though we arrived 30 minutes from closing time for the cellar door. We were told everything closed including the kitchen. Understand about the kitchen but if 30 minutes isn’t enough for a wine tasting, perhaps this should be advised on the website. Everyone else in our experience offers tastings until close. It’s the third and last time we will attempt to experience Plume as every time has been unsuccessful for us.
We went along to Plume Restaurant while staying at the adjacent villas and ordered the tasting menu.
Overall the food was good however a couple of minor things that compounded.
The food was good however we both left feeling a bit hungry still. It was definitely a tasting menu not nessecarily one to fill us both us.
The service was fairly avg and a bit hit and miss. The main waiter we had was good, yet the other one it felt like he didn’t really care.
The venue is lovely and in a very picturesque setting. We sat outside and I’d recommend you do too during summer. It was humming and turned over the tables.
Would I go back - probably but only w a changed menu. They could go a bit further and make it easier to pair the wines w the dishes. It does feel a bit tired and could do w some “refreshed” views.
Hence 4/5
A very relaxed experience.
Smart/casual and efficient service. Lovely food. Lamb was cooked perfectly.
Good priced wines and an interesting cellar selection.
Amazing Food, Great service. This is an outstanding place to spend an evening. We have eaten at most Restaurants in the area but none beat Plume for true quality food, great wine and the best desserts. The staff are super helpful and friendly and know the food they are serving. The pricing is fair considering you receive premium quality food and service.
Absolutley awesome. Staff were so warm and friendly, good was great
Fantastic service. Great meal. We had 20 to lunch and everyone raved about the location and food. Thanks for helping me celebrate my 6th in style. Regards Mark
Food ranged from average to very good. Soup and desserts were top picks. Curry not so great. Really nice wines. Good service. Bit expensive, but all in all not bad value.
Really nice venue but very average food at a high price. Lamb shanks were a small portion and really wasn't a fan of the smokey flavour. My wife had braised beef which was pretty bland and had to add salt to season it with something. I ordered fries that didn't turn up and had to ask for them again. Glad I did as it was the only thing worth eating. Disappointing!
Lovely setting and on the Matakana Wine Trail. Wine tastings available. Good menu offerings (look out for the "grab one' specials. Excellent interior decor. Staff are efficient and friendly. Also has a private room that can be booked for special occasions. Super outdoor area ideal when the weather is warmer.
As locals this is our favourite and go to restaurant. We have been to Plume numerous of times and we always get a great meal and wine whether it is lunch or dinner (and the platter at lunchtime is the best one around). We also had our wedding here and anyone looking for a beautiful venue for their wedding, along with fantastic food and good service I would highly recommend Plume! We have had such great feedback from our wedding guests saying how amazing the food was (it was all cooked to perfection) and what a stunning venue it was. Staff were really friendly and Farida was great at answering all my questions and fast at replying to emails! Along with letting us have all our wishes and things we wanted on and for our big day. Number one fan, always up for a meal and wine at Plume!
We went to a wedding here. The food was delicious. It was a beautiful place for a wedding.
Had a great experience at Plume. Cellar door was excellent - very friendly and helpful lady (owner) talking us through the wines. Lunch was nice too - staff friendly, could have been slightly more attentive but it was busy. Lovely place though and we were in no rush. Would certainly go back
Plume was once the great escape from Auckland, a place to go when you wanted to relax and enjoy the finer things of life: good food, wine and company. It was a place I'd be proud to take international visitors for the "Out of Auckland" experience. Unfortunately, my most recent visits to Plume have been less than satisfactory. As a full paying customer I expect the service and food quality to be top-notch, and not to be belittled by asking me at every turn whether I have a "Grab One" voucher. The service is poor, numerous times they got the order wrong and food is terribly delayed. I still enjoyed the wine and surroundings, but this can be found at any good winery. I hope that Plume returns to it's once great stature but for now, I'd look elsewhere.
Lovely outlook superb food Best eye filet I have ever had. Portions fine dining style but great! Staff friendly Cant fault it!
