Found it a bit underwhelming both taste and spicewise. Would return if in the neighbourhood, but not a destination.

Great lunch out, fantastic deal with the set meal for 2, $55 for 3 starters, 2 mains (full size mains too, none of this small special lunch portion) naan and 2 beers or wines. Curries were some of the best we've had in Christchurch, very good levels of spice.
PS It's worth noting that the only few bad reviews listed on here seem to be referring the Honey Pot Cafe which was at this location but shut last year. Sadly google don't seem to have blanked the reviews with the change of business here.

We dropped in to Taj of India for dinner as a fluke. Great place! We choose the couple's set and it really great value for money with leftovers for the next day. The nann bread was the best I've ever tasted and you could tell the chef had freshly made it. The curry also had some homemade flavour and you can taste the difference to traditional chain Indian restaurants. The staff were very friendly too. Definitely recommend!

Super friendly Nepalese staff serving some honestly good Indian fare. Good fluffy tasty naan, fresh rice, fair portions. Had my doubts about the previous place when it served Indian / mexican fare but its pretty legit now. Recommended.

Just ate here last night- excellent food, fast but very friendly, great presentation, great prices and plenty of vegetarian options- I particularly recommend the shahi paneer.

Without a doubt the best curry in Christchurch! All of us absolutely loved our meals. Super reasonable and amazing service. Will be back to try every curry on the menu!
