December 2016. First impression was the neglected land area adjacent to the car park and down the side of the building. My second impression was the lack of concern when I was allocated an upstairs unit, (I am 71 y/o), and when I said I would need help with my bags I was told by the receptionist that she had a bad shoulder and couldn't help me and that her husband would be here in a half hour. Eventually she said that she could help me so I struggled and she helped a little. My third impression was the broken mechanical car access barrier through the one way roadway to the rear. My fourth impression was the sub standard condition of the unit: Cobwebs in the ceiling: Dead cockroach on the carpet and in the bathroom: Dirty under the toilet seat and behind the toilet bowl: Missing curtain to bathroom window: One face flannel for two guests, no handtowels: Someone elses hair on floor in bathroom: Dirty corners in bathroom: No tissues in tissue holder: No soap in the soap dispenser: Dirty toaster: Dirty handle and side of fridge: Dirty microwave: Teatowel was stained and had holes: Kitchen curtain was dirty, not hung properly and sides were unmachined with raw edges: Salt & pepper shakers were nearly empty: Closet was unsightly mess of upsidedown, stained ironing board, heater and iron, (without filler cup), with leads strewn: Main curtains had makeshift hemming, netting was dragging on the floor: My last impression was with regard to the parking. There was no car park allocation and returning late at night in the pouring rain and finding all the parks in the rear taken I had to park out the front and endured a soaking and wet shoes due to all the puddles in the oneway roadway.
Needless to say I am not impressed. For the amount charged this Motor Inn does not reach the usual or expected standards of New Zealand accommodation and I can only say that the owners are milking this cash cow for all it's worth.
I stayed three nights and went north, cancelling my return booking. When I returned to AKL I went to a motel in Northcote Rd, cheaper and absolutely immaculate and it included cooking facilities, management were very professional, I was impressed.

This hotel is absolutely horrible! Actually one of the worse I have been to, the staff were friendly and helpful but the hygiene and all that's a big NO!NO! When I first went in the place reeked of bleach even the air couldn't take out the smell! The pillows were dirty, the bathroom didn't have soap and the bar was all sticky! The TV was absolutely terrible! Only 13 channels and the TV was small as you couldn't even see especially if the scene is dark! The pool is also green like they put plenty of chlorine. I wouldn't recommend this but one question:
How can people stand the smell???

Got in late at night, so thankful for that, but absolutely terrible premises. Very run down room, clean but very poor. There also seemed to be some safety regulation issues which I struggle to believe was council permitted. Very low roof and power point almost in the shower/bath. Swimming pool is green and unusable. Sky TV only had one sport and one movie channel, both of which were fuzzy and looked like the reception had been split off to multiple rooms. Go somewhere else if you are able.

We got there super late at night but we're greeted with absolutely kindness and helpfulness. Room was very clean, well laid out as someone else has mentioned and affordable. Best part, the bed was SO comfy! Would definitely stay again if need be.
