It is also known as Ranjha airport which is one of the best airport in mid western Nepal. It has important role in connecting people to the remote parts of this region and assisting in  the development activities basically to those areas still not connected with road networks by facilitating logistic supports through schedule and charter air carriers. Having many touristic destinations within the region,  it has potential to  contribute greatly for the economic development.

The airport is really clean and sanitated. The security is also tight enough for the security of the air pessangers and the aeroplane

The place is really situated at the inner part of the city that it's disturbance does not effect the people of the local place.

Nepalgunj Airport (IATA: KEP, ICAO: VNNG) is an airport serving Nepalgunj[1] (also spelled Nepalganj), a Sub-Metropolitan Municipality in Banke District of Province No. 5 in Nepal. The airport is capable of handling aircraft from the Nepalese Army Air Service.

The airport has been in service since 1961. In land area it is the third largest airport in Nepal, after Dhangadhi Airport. It also has the second greatest number of aircraft and passenger movements. After the introduction of FK-100 jet aircraft, passenger movement at this airport increased by 13.39% in 2005 (up to November) against the figure in the year 2004.

Recently, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has permitted Flying Dragon Airlines, a joint venture company of Nepal and China, to operate remote areas of mid - and far - western development region with operating base at this airport.

I think Nepalgunj airport is byfar one of the best kept airports in Nepal. I was shocked by how clean the entire airport was. From the floors to the immediate outside of the airport to the waiting room, everything was well managed. Also, they did announcement which I thought was only done in the Kathmandu airport. I wish they also implemented the luggage terminals. I dont want to miss this opportunity but the restrooms are as well better than that of any airport. I hope they keep up with the standards.

This airport is a regional airport and a hub for Midwest region. Flights for Northern districts like Jumla, Mugu, are operated from here. The airport is crowded and chaotic during peak hours. However, over the past few years this airport has been upgrading and trying do good jobs to provide quality customer service.

Airport is busy for mansarobar travel in season due to Indian passenger. Nepal Gunja to Humla is major route in Hilly Areas to enter into China Tibet. The airport inner side toilet is to be improved for sanitation. Outside toilet has recently been improved for Nepali standard. Luggage handling and baggage claim system still traditional.

A decent regional airport- I liked that we could walk straight off the plane onto the tarmac. Baggage came quickly.

Nepalganj Airport will not surprise anyone who travels in Asia. On the ticket counter side, there is a decent snack shop, a couple of kiosks where one can buy a newspaper or a bag of chips, and the usual chaos around ticket counters and security gate. No A/C on this side. There is usually a crowd of people right outside the front door, under the eaves to avoid the rain, and smoking like crazy. Separate security lines for males and females; both are slow and only open when a flight is due to leave. Give yourself plenty of time to get through. After security, a spacious waiting area with no kiosks and, sometimes, working A/C.
