A charming place to stay in a very charming village on the AurlandFjord. The rooms were comfortable and pleasant and the service and food were both excellent. Probably my wife's favorite of all the places we stayed during a month-long visit to Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

This is an old hotell. There's an old TV in the room that doesn't work. The food was not great and expencive. Disapointed.

Nice room and friendly service. The only downside is that it doesn't have an elevator. We decided to have dinner, we ordered salmon and chicken and it was very tasty and the price is reasonable.

The staff were great but this hotel overall is a joke. The room stunk of sweat and air freshener, and we had to have the windows and balcony door open the whole time, it smelt so funky. The food was ABYSMAL. 225 NOK for a frozen meal for dinner! Frozen peas and shrivelled carrots, iceberg lettuce and I suspect frozen salmon - frozen fish in Norway on a fjord? Cmon. Breakfast was not great either. It was not value for money and I suspect it stays in business as Aurland is tiny.

Most reviews here are a bit harsh
The Staff here is SUPER nice, and the service in all manners is perfect. That being said, the rooms and entire hotel are in fact outdated, however it's a matter of perspective - to me it felt like a Wes Anderson movie set ;))
Pros:
Excellent hospitality. Going the extra mile
Breakfast is okay+ nothing more, nothing less.
Close to everything you need. Nice Caffès and restaurants nearby. Great location.
Cons:
Needs a bit refreshing.. charming as it may be.

The staff was very nice during my stay, and the hotel itself was very cozy. It was a bit pricey for my taste but you can't expect too many cheap options when on a tourist-based Norwegian fjord. The balcony's view was astounding, and the breakfast buffet was big enough for an American like me to get stuffed. Great stay and worth the price!

Amazing location for an average hotel. Rooms were clean, but small and You could hear the neighbors. Dinner buffet looked awful (but we didn't try it so it might have been nice). Breakfast was included and was quite alright.

I decided during my DIY "Norway in a Nutshell" tour, to jump off the ferry at Aurland. As it was a bit off season (early September), the hotel had heaps of availability! I got a single with a fjord-view balcony for a fairly reasonable rate (for Norway). My room had a rather lumpy bed, couch, table, chair, TV, bathroom and balcony.
The hotel has seen better days, I'm thinking. A bit shabby and well-worn, but clean and the receptionists were friendly. All you can eat breakfast was included and checkout wasn't until 12pm, so I was able to relax in my room and enjoy the view after days of running around before checking out and flagging down the ferry.
Overall, I would stay again.response / report this review
