We had a wonderful time at Veranera. Jan was a wonderful host and made sure everything was taken care of. The homemade dinners were delicious and the setting was beyond belief. I have never felt so comfortable and so well taken care of.

A nice place with good food and great view of the beach, ocean and sunset. Located on an unpaved road that can offer some challenge to a car when it rains.

La Veranera definitely goes into the books as one of my favorite travel lodgings. I stayed here while traveling with a group of 3 girlfriends on vacation. Slightly outside of San Juan de Sur, La Veranera is a quiet charming escape of a home turned into bed & breakfast. The back patio and pool area open out onto the beach/ocean and are surrounded on the side by cliffs. With the lack of city noise from San Juan del Sur, you can literally fall asleep and awake every day to the sound of waves. The manager Nick is an incredibly host (and bartender) and the owners Jim & Ina are amazing. Food and alcohol options (patio poolside bar) are greatand there's also a restaurant just a few yards down the beach with great ceviche! I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to San Juan del Sur and recommend to any family, friends, honeymooners, or even solo backpackers.
