    Had a great time here.
The resort is beautiful, and the staff is excellent. The pools are huge and clean, with plenty of bars and activity.
The food overall is good, the sushi place is the best value in my opinion, but if you do the timeshare presentation you can get 2for1 buffet from 10:30-11:30 which we did 3 times.
The main areas of improvement would be; better on site beaches, as they are not nice for snorkeling
And also the resort is a bit to spread out for what we wanted to do. It takes about 10 minutes to get to anything from your room, and we were actually fairly centrally located.
Overall it was a great experience and super safe and relaxing.

Gorgeous. Very clean, inside & out. Everyone was extremely polite & helpful, but the English was very limited. We had a 1 bdrm suite in Bldg. A, close to many things, and a kitchenette. Nice deli & convenience store onsite. Very large resort, but a lot of trams to get around. Good transportation system for outside travel. Restaurants pricey and menus were rather strange to me. A lot of the restaurants had free entertainment in the evenings, some required reservations. My only complaint was that several times we didn't have a concierge in the building.

Beautiful location but they hound you for sales. Vast area and confusing. Can’t get in the ocean/sea because of seaweed. Prices are reasonable and food delicious. Pools very nice.. rooms at The Jungle but 2 miles from beach. Beautiful tropical walking just far from everything.

The pools are nice- weather good- but everything about this place costs extra. They have a small grocery but I’m about to get on a shuttle to the grocery store. Otherwise you pay a premium for every meal. $25 for breakfast buffet. It is good- but who is wants to pay that much for a breakfast buffet? Dinner was good but it seems they overcharge to motivate you to do their time share spiel to save 10%.

The grounds of the resort are really well maintained. Every employee we encountered was very polite and helpful. I would just suggest more pool bartenders as there was a long wait for drinks at the pool.

I would prefer more convenient coffee options throughout the resort.

The resort is massive, but there are a lot of signs to help guests find their way around. The shuttles are very helpful but I'd recommend more organization around them. The pickup spots could have better labels so you know where to wait and they could label the different routes. There's one line that goes between the Central Lobby and the different hotel lobbies then a different line that goes around within each hotel. Could easily make this more clear with a blue line and a red line similar to a subway system.

The hotel and staff are wonderful. Great food and pools also. The mandatory valet, located so far as to make it necessary to rely on 2 shuttle trams to get there whenever you want to leave the property is not. I stayed here two years ago, when I could park near my hotel building and that was much more convenient than relying on the shuttles.

Just a huge complex. Beach is very rocky/coral and tons of seaweed. Stick to pool and definitely rent a palapa. Stay away from Central area of pool very loud with DJ and group activities unless you like that sort of thing. I do not participate in the timeshare sales pitches and won't. You never get more than half the day back.

Lovely place. Came down for our honeymoon. Drinks and food are delicious and reasonably priced for a resort. Service is excellent and everyone appears happy, or at least in a good mood. Only complaint is the beach is a bit rocky a few feet into the water. Great place!

This resort has been lovely, very beautiful. The people who work here have given wonderful guest services. The food is phenomenal. I feel as though they should provide more yellow trams for guests to get around the resort and less bumpy roads that the trams drive on. Otherwise our trip has been great so far.

We were in the Grand Mayan Jungle with a unit that faced the road that they use to go out to the transportation lobby. It was always noisy day and night. Plus it took 20 minutes to get a shuttle to go to the pool. Everything is just too spread out and not coordinated enough. You could walk the jungle path, but the signs weren't consistent and you felt like you were getting lost. Workers were nice except in the sales presentation (lots of pressure and when you said no, the next guy was even worse and down right rude). WiFi was horrible and you only got 3 devices per reservation and you had to sign in every day. Basically, I would suggest going some place else.

The grand Mayan is a beautiful resort. I stayed at the grand bliss which had a very spacious and luxurious room. All of the staff where very nice and helpful and they all speak English. It truly feels like a paradise from being shuttled around the resort via golf carts to eating at incredible restaraunts. I did not have a bad meal the entire time I was at the resort, everything was delicious. My only complaint is the beaches are not good. They are beautiful but also very rocky and it is not a fun time getting into deeper water. Overall I would highly recommend staying at this resort!

The place was overly priced for what it was. Concierge was good but their too big for their own good. They lost our car the first day (won't even get into how long that took and our anxiety) and then we were locked out of our room the second night and we had to wait outside of it for over 15 minutes, coming back from all day excursion and all we wanted was a shower, and it turns our that wasn't even the issue for some reason our bracelet that lets us in had just quit working so we had to walk down and get new ones. They offered up no compensation for either time consuming occasions. I mean we flew all that way to get a luxurious vacation at a supposedly 5 diamond resort. Won't even get into the tram situation as in when it finally makes it's way around it's too full to even get on

The place is beautiful, First class facilities and great food. Unfortunately the service is very deficient. The staff always have an excuse and really don't make an effort to make things right. This is a huge property and they move you to the lobbies, theater, restaurants or parking lot in electric trains (shuttles) which take forever. Be prepared to waste a serious amount of time waiting for transport in the scorching sun. Everything here moves slowly and now it is mandatory to use their valet parking.

I am a member and they are always offering upgrades (wake up calls every day at 8 am). Will not be spending any more money on this timeshare.

Excellent service, conditions of the hotel. 24hr pool. Excellent foodnot cheap. Beach with rocks. (Not so good but all the rest is excellent!) Perfect time with family. Too big so even if it crowded you don't feel like it is full. You find space at the beach, pool, restaurants.

Our stay at the sister resort, the Mayan Palace, allows us to use the pool and facilities of the Grand Mayan. It is a beautiful place and the staff are very kind. They remind me of Disney World where you are greeted cheerfully by all team members. It's been lovely!

The Grand Mayan is a decent hotel except the walk from our room all the way to the beach is a long walk and the tram service is unpredictable from our room since they placed us at the end of the line. Especially annoying since all the restaurants and the shops are all in one area by the beach and hard to access from our area. Rooms are as they appear on resort website and are great.

They took my id and never gave it back. I have called and left messages including my address to mail it to me. it has been 19 days since I checked out. I have heard nothing. When I call, they all pass the buck. No help at all. UPDATE. They finally responded. They refused to mail my ID back during the holidays due to cost, but I insisted they stick it in an envelope and put a stamp on it. I received this envelope in late January, six weeks after that call. Other than that issue, this is a very nice resort. The rooms and pool are fabulous. Restaurants are very nice.

UPDATE - day 4 of our stay and the slow drain has been fixed. ***BUT***Having declined to attend a presentation on the first day we have received an early morning call each day. Today we were called by a "manager" who told us that we would be called every day until we went to a presentation. Not cool. This sort of bullying should not be a part of a vacation and has soured the whole experience.

Just a day into our stay so this is a first impression. The room is really roomy and nice with a good bed. The only issue being a shower that doesn't run as hot as we would like and a slow drain. Other than that the persistant pressure to attend a session to give us "information about changes to the time share industry" was really annoying. This is a huge property with lots to see and do. Nice walking paths (boardwalks) are all over though sometimes signs seem to be pointing us in wrong directions. Frequent shuttles make getting around less of a chore. Food in restaurants seems reasonably priced with decent sized portions and great flavour.

Beautiful resort but very big. We had to walk a lot. Shuttle service is available but you still have to walk far to exit the property. The restaurants are very good. Excellent service at this resort. Beautiful large pools.
