I enjoyed the grounds and the pool, the staff are friendly too. The food left a lot to be desired. I would've given the experience a 3 or 4 Star if it weren't for the big disappointment come bill time. They advertised a 600 dollar resort credit which turns out wasn't credit at all but coupons for which you'd have to spend thousands to actually get the 600 "resort credit". Very misleading practice and seems like it was done on purpose. I'm not done trying to resolve the issue, I'll update if they do anything to fix the issue.

Loved the hotel and our Cancun vacation! Very attentive, friendly and warm staff. Really impressed with the service. The food was good. I could eat fairly healthy and didn't waste food like what happened a lot at other resorts. The iguanas are cool, the beach and pools are great. Entertainment was fun and a great variety. The villa was a nice change from a traditional hotel room and would recommend it for sure. Our room had some strange occurrences like sounds of a plastic cup falling to the floor in the middle of the night and we would wake up and there wouldn't be any cups or anything fallen to the floor. Then the lights in the bathroom would turn on or off randomly. A little spooky but we never felt unsafe.

I loved my stay at this hostel, they had plenty of food choices, the service was amazing. The hotel has plenty of swimming pools in addition to the amazing beach. The only thing that bothered me a lot, was the constant sales while trying to make reservations with the concierges for the specialty restaurants. Other than that, it was an amazing stay.

If you are in the US, I would recommend you book through Costco Vacations or Delta Vacations. You get a better deal as a package.

This resort is incredible. The views from the rooms are astonishing. The staff is extremely attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The amenities are luxurious, and I feel extra pampered and cared for. The food selection is diverse and everything is delicious. The rooms are kept clean, spacious and inviting. I can't wait to return, it is am exceptional place for a vacation.

The resort is amazing! The view are breathtaking and the variety of alcohol is nice. If you're looking for an adult getaway this may not necessarily be your best choice. The resort allows children so many of the activities are family oriented and most of the excitement is over early. There are shows to take in and the location is not terribly far from the nightlife. The only reason why I gave it less than five stars is because of the kids.

This is a paradise. If you can't be happy here, you can't be happy anywhere. Great people, great service. Very clean, beautiful rooms and balconies. Lots of amenities. Great place for kids, lots to do. In response to Abeel Ur Rab, sounds Middle Eastern. Let me help you pack! Yes, I realize you don't eat pork, that would be canabalism!!!

    Iberostar
    Late check out issue

Fernando, the check out representative, told us of a “late check” fee during check out since we didn’t actually go to the front desk after leaving the room during the late check out time of 11am (according to what we were told when we called at 10:15am when they told us we there wasn’t a late check out option). After they told us there wasn’t a left checkout option, we immediately packed and left the room to relax at the pool. Then when we went to pay for the spa experience (which was good yet costly of $500 for 2 people) even though they didn’t have our credit cards on-file, we wanted to do the right thing and pay at which point we were confronted by Dario about a fee (which was apparently disclosed at our door saying there was a per hour fee after checkout). We never received this disclosure and from our experience “check out” means leave the room so they can clean for the next guest. Personally I’ve been to Cancun, Mexico 10+ times, 4 of which has been in the last 2 years. I️ never had to “check out” at the front desk to avoid a fee.

The most absurd thing was Dario and him telling us that he didn’t care about our experience and that I️ was asking for him / his front desk to pay for the fee. Mind you, it was only $10 USD per hour. He then proceeded to be rude about their process and explained how it was my fault for this to occur even though it was not accustom in the USA.

Bottom line, after filing my formal complaint, I️ explained that the worse thing they could have done is ensuring that I️ left with a negative experience. The last thing a guest wants is to end the trip because of the front desk manager is rude and arguing about a small fee.

Sadly, we also went through the “membership” aka time share process, yet the last thing I️ would want is a 25 year commitment at a place where we have negative experiences.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. The architecture is breathtaking. The pool is huge with a fully equipped bar. Our room had an ocean view and the hotel is right on the beach. The grounds are very well kept and the staff is very friendly. The location is also very convenient since it's close to all the main attractions in Cancun.

Nice food. Big pool area with good entertainment. Lots of bars and restaurants to eat at. Very friendly staff and clean hotel. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 star is due to the reception at check in. They could not offer the room I had booked but for an upgraded fee could give us a different room another guest had the room that we wanted but need to change. Also advised him there would be a fee. It seems a money making scheme at check in. Be careful.

I've been to only one other resort in Mexico (Grand Principe Bahia). This resort seemed much better in service and overall look. The place is very family oriented. There are few smaller pools with play structures and slides. The sand was very nice both on the beach and in the water. Grand Principe Bahia was very rocky in the water and had massive sand bags few meters away from the shoreline to prevent sand from going away. In this Iberostar, the view is beautiful, with very Blue water and next to no seaweed. I do think that place needs to be a bit more lively. Music is rarely played in the lobby bar or the pool bar.

I enjoyed time at this hotel. Services were great. Staffs were always friendly and professional. My room was clean with great atmosphere. Chefs cook great foods. Nightly shows were great but hotel music was also beautiful. Once they also played during lunch time on beach front and taught us to dance. Actually, I do not have any negative to say about this hotel. Remember to reserve your dinners, they are worth every dollar.

Excellent Hotel! This was my first time in Mexico and I was very happy with all aspects of my stay. The staff were the most friendly and helpful I've met on any holiday and could not do enough for you. The hotel is fantastic, very clean, generally well maintained, and a nice place to be. The pool areas are extensive and cater for all whether that's play areas for the children, games and activities for all ages, the swim up bar or just a quiet corner to relax. It definitely ranks as my favourite pool area to date.
The location is great too, only a 20 minute transfer from the airport, and only a 20 minute taxi journey into the city of Cancún. One point to note on location, the sea can be quite rough with strong under currents, so not ideal if you want to be in the sea a lot especially if you're not a strong swimmer. That said the sea in front of the hotel has a lifeguard on duty during all daylight hours.
So my overall rating is a definite 5 out of 5, I would recommend this hotel highly and hope to be back there myself at some point soon.

Great hotel! It has the biggest pool are of any hotels I've ever been to. This decreases potential crowded areas and give people lots of options. The hotel has easy and nice access to the beach. The food is good and friendly staff. ( Except 1 individual at the front desk.).

My wife and I spent 10 days at the Iberostar Cancun and we absolutely loved it. The room had plenty of space and a great view of the pool, beach, and ocean. The hotel rooms showed a bit of age in some areas, but the common areas (bars, lobby, restaurants) were more up to date. The pool area is plenty big enough so you won't be fighting for a lounge chair no matter what time you get out there. The beachfront has plenty of space and again, plenty of seating. If you're lucky enough to have a room facing the pool the views are fantastic. The hotel is close to a couple of local ruins sites and there's a bus stop right out front to get downtown. This hotel also has a theater with nightly shows. Most of them are pretty fun to go to and the entertainment staff does a great job.

Staff: Everyone we worked with at the hotel was helpful and incredibly friendly. Sylvia at the front desk was great to work with and always helpful. The entire staff was awesome and the biggest reason we'd go back and recommend this resort to anyone looking to spend some time in Cancun. Any little shortcomings with the facility (there really weren't many) were more than made up for by the staff. They made sure our stay was as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

Food/Drinks: The food at the restaurants was very good and the buffets were pretty standard, but nothing was bad. Their gourmet restaurant had amazing food and desserts. The drinks everywhere were usually a little weak. Overall good taste, just inconsistent or weak pours at times.

Overall we had an outstanding experience with everyone and loved the hotel itself. It's a good size without being a sprawling campus but also having enough space for guests to not feel crowded. If you can, ask for a room facing the pool.

Great resort and great food. I have been to cancun 5 times now and 4 different resorts. This place definitely isn't as big as the others but a gem. Make sure if you want to eat at one of the restaurants you make reservations in advance. They do book up quick
