Staff was wonderful. Food was on. Kevin made great drinks (bottom shelf). Bellhop Serafin was amazing, great service and recommendations. Needs a little maintenance on the rooms and pools. Landscaping was nice.

Great all inclusive resort! Staff was super friendly and it wasn't super busy while we were there for spring break (huge plus for us). Throughout the day the pool staff would engage everyone in group activities such as yoga/volleyball/pool aerobics and contests with prizes. The buffet was also decent quality. They had dinner themes every night so you wouldn't get so bored with the same types of foods. And then there's also a formal dinner as well that you could reserve earlier in the day that provided better quality food. However selection was very limited so we only did that a couple of times. All in all a great place to stay. We will likely go back. Just FYI for those with kids there's a lot of nude paintings throughout the resort. It might have been a nude resort at one point in time which is what we believe. This may bother some people.

Was a really nice place to stay at. It has nightly entertainment, usually starting at 9 pm. The buffet was open three times a day, and you were able to eat as much as you wanted. **There were a few vegetarian options, but little to no vegan options besides the salad bar** Every meal had its own theme, and my personal favorite was the BBQ. The rooms were clean, but not completely as there were dust in some corners. The rooms bathroom does not lock since it's a completely glass door. If you shower with hot water then your whole room will be humid. The drinks at the bar are complementary so that was nice. Wifi is not free and a bit slow. Any questions about the place ask away.

I loved it there. Great nice and peaceful resort to return to after a night of partying in San Lucus. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. Our favorite bartender is Damion. Ask for the Damion special from him. He tends to be at the bar next to the stage.

My wife and I loved every single thing about this resort. Cruz welcomed us right in. The staff was amazing! Rooms clean and spacious. Pool area and beach area very nice & safely protected by security. Drinks were yummy. The best thing was the quaint ambiance you felt while staying at this resort. You never had to fight for a chair by the pool, huge cushions to lay on by the beach or even wait for a drink. We will return and stay again.

First off, I would like to say that all of the staff was amazing! They were so polite, resourceful, professional and friendly. However, I cannot recommend anyone staying at this resort. The food was pitiful, every single day (we stayed for 8 days 7 nights). Not only was it bad quality but the preparation of the food was poor as well. Needless to say, we ate food elsewhere quite a bit. Be advised, the drinks were much worse than the food. If you are looking for something SIMPLE at a hotel in Mexico like Tequila, mojito, mudslide etc.you will be beyond disappointed. The tastes were so bad and unrecognizable. So yes, we had to go elsewhere just to get decent drinks. If you drink wine or certain types of beer, then you're in luck. Next, it appears they did a really nice facelift on the front of the building but not so much on the rest. We also discovered that the hotel was maybe 80-85% locals. Which may not be the worst thing for some but it wasn't hard to figure out why. Next, the day before we left, we met a couple who got bedbugs, this couple's room was 3 doors down from ours. This pretty much sent us over the edge. The only thing they offered the couple were vouchers to the spa. They made them put all of their belongings outside in black trash bags. We noticed they sprayed our room as well, as a precautionary act but that did not help erase the fear in any way for us. Not to mention, our housekeeping was not consistent with the cleaning of the rooms. Most days, our towels were not changed out (even though we put them in a small pile on the floor as instructed). Our water in the fridge was never restocked, the bed making was questionable. So, all of this added to our concerns of getting these bugs too. Right now, it's to early to confirm if we have them or not because we checked out a day after learning about it all. We have a few bites on us but cannot just yet determine what they are. I've read that it can typically take a few days to know for sure, so we just don't want to claim it yet and pray to God that we don't have to. So, to sum it all up. The excursions and outside food and drinks were the best part about our trip. Will we visit Cabo again? Absolutely. Will we stay at this resort again? Absolutely not. Please do your research so that you can enjoy your trip without any of the unnecessary disappointments.
P.S. We have stayed at other resorts in Mexico and the experience was amazing. Just want to make that clear, this place has to get it together.

Loved it !! The staff are the best, I wish I could've brought them all home with me. The food was great, buffet style and a variety of Mexican, Canadian, and chinese, also a nice salad bar. It was my first time, and would go back in a heartbeat. Couldn't swim in the ocean, but there are several pools, even one that is an adult only, Wich is apart from the other family oriented pools. Rooms were clean and welcoming. Always something to do . Games in the midst, yoga in the morning and wonderful entertainment at night. My girlfriend got sick while away from home, I called the front desk and, they sent a doctor and paramedics to our room. Love them all at the Royal.

Loved not having to think of anything and having everything in one location. The pool is warm, big and beautiful. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Food was yummy and good. No tummy issues. Room was big enough, cold and a nice view. Great stay.

My husband and I just came back from our honeymoon here and we did not want to leave. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I have a lot of food restrictions and they made a special card for me in Spanish so I could show to the chef each night before eating. The facilities were kept immaculately clean. It was an extremely relaxing time and we can't wait to go back!

The food is what you would expect from a cheap hotel or the Golden corral (and served buffet style) and the drinks are terrible (made with cheap corn syrup mixers and bottom shelf alcohol). This was our biggest issue, my wife and I do not have high standards and this was our first all inclusive so maybe it is this way everywhere but it was seriously bad.

There is no room service available at all and the mini bar is nothing but 2 waters, 2 sodas, and two light Coronas. The rules surrounding when and where you even can eat are crazy and too complicated to put in this review.

The beds are hard and not something that would pass at even a two star hotel (and I spend about half the year in hotels so believe me, they look nice but they are about what you would get at a cheap motel)

They make you wear a cheap plastic bracelet the whole time your there, and you can't eat or drink and if you loose it, or if the crappy thing breaks through no fault of your own it's 50$ to replace. This apparently is common for all inclusive hotels here but this was my first time and it was very annoying to me.

Honestly I could keep going on and on, we were very disappointed and I am not one that usually writes reviews but I wish I would have had a review like this to know what I was getting so I could have found somewhere else to stay. I am trying to be as honest as I can here because we booked this place after reading a bunch of excellent reviews and were highly disappointed.

That said I gave it two stars because the grounds and hotel itself is actually quite lovely and the pools were nice as well, but we will NEVER be back.

This review is for the spa only, as we stayed at a different resort. We had massages at our own resort earlier in the week for more than twice the price. Wish we had known about this one before our last day. We walked up from the beach. Security immediately recognized that we were not guests of the resort amd questioned us. When we indicated we were interested in the spa, they asked where we were staying and happily showed us to the spa. Massages, service and price were all excellent. They even offer full body massages in cabanas on the beach.

Great value for the price. We stayed in January for about $100 a night. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Good food and drinks. And a very nice view. Not what may be considered main stream all inclusive resort, however still a very nice place.

Clean and comfortable, the staff were very efficient and helpful. It is a smaller resort so at times you can feel a little cramped. The food was diverse even though there were only 2 restaurants on site. The odd time it was "Luke warm" at the buffet, on the plus side 70 Canadians on the last trip and none were sick. Each night had a theme and you could eat from bland to Caliente as you wish. The only downfall would be how loud the music played from 9am to 11pm every day. Suites on the inside took the brunt of the night music. Ocean view rooms the brunt of the daytime. Pools were clean and fresh. Overall a good stay.
