I go there for the travel tours. There is always someone at reception, the tours are printed and well presented and described. Prices are listed, and the staff is helpful and communicative. I would stay there, but it's always pre booked and full.

Surprisingly, this place was very disappointing for me. The hostel itself is atmospheric as it has a big terrace, bar, kitchenette, pin pong table and comfortable beds. I would say it is a Party Hostel as in the mornings there will beer bottles everywhere and dirty toilets. The beds have fabric screens for privacy but that privacy is used for couples to have loud sex in the dorms.
The beds and floors are made of wood so it is noisy even to move in your bed, besides there is a busy street outside the hostel.
The staff / volunteers will be helpful because they have no other choice, with one or two exceptions. It looks like a gang of youngsters.
The place is not completely awful. The internet is ok. There is free drinking water. Decent free breakfast. Great location. There are tours available. But, not recommended.

Super good, super food, super staff, definitely my nr. 1 for Mexico and central. Stayed there 2 times for a week, also the perfect stop with connections between Guatemala and Mexico.
Only minority where the low door entries so my head still hurts

Great hostel! Lots of party vibes, but these are separate from the accommodation, so far enough away if you need a decent sleep! The dorms are awesome, all the beds have a curtain if you need some privacy which is at times a life saver. The breakfast is included, and had at least two options per day eg. Pancakes, crepes, smoothie bowls or a Mexican option. The facilities are all clean and easily accessible. Staff were helpful and keen to get everyone involved in the activites, which there were many! The hostel location is awesome, close to the main square and great cafes and restaurants. This hostel has it all, highly recommend!!

Best hostel! Stay at Puerta Vieja hostel and experience a true Mexican and friendly vibe. A little warning, you may end up staying longer than expected. Here at Puerta Vieja they serve FREE breakfast every morning, and not the boring coffee and toast kind of breakfast, but the option of either a freshly cooked Mexican style cuisine or a crepe/pancake served with fruits that change everyday. On most nights of the week this hostel also offers a 50 peso dinner that is freshly cooked by the kitchen staff. They also offer free cocktail nights, free live music, and yoga classes each morning. The staff here are all friendly and the hostel is always being cleaned to ensure a hygienic and comfortable stay for everyone. There are also private rooms available if you prefer having your own space, a few of which even have their own private bathroom. Only went to the bar, it has a huge garden to drink and hangout in while listening to music with amazing food specials! When I was there if you bought a drink for $10 more you got a 3 course meal (miso soup, sushi, and dessert) would definitely stay there if possible!

I've been here for 6 weeks and I find it hard to leave. Everything here is amazing. Free drinks and incredibly cheap food make it more than worth it. Beds are comfy as well.

Great hostel and the staff is awsome! Slept ther for four nights in a 16 beds dorms and it was pretty good. Had good breakfast everyday, fresh and tasty. The hostel has free cocktails/mojitos nights 3 times a week. Enjoyed the vibe and the people. Wes clean.
