This is a budget hotel with a great location. There are many good things and many areas for improvement. On the plus side, people are very responsive. There was a problem with the air conditioning and they fixed it immediately. On the improvement side, the internet quality is bad. I tried to have a virtual meeting and my internet was interrupted multiple times. Rooms are basic, and some can have better facilities, but overall this falls within the definition of budget hotel. Breakfast is not included, but you can pay for a $10 buffet they serve in the top floor.
Clean and affordable, great location
Built in an ancient commercial center, this hotel is very weird. Rooms are hold stores, with no isolation (noisy !) Strange decoration with pictures of some "important" people, our room was upstairs with no lift ! But the price is the real bad thing. Very expensive.
In November I stayed in Mayafair for two weeks with my mom and sister,we had such a great time. Hotel was great stuff was great rooms were so clean and comfortable,it was close to everything. I really want to say that before I booked this hotel I was reading reviews and my husband said please do not book mayafair coz of what some people say but I liked the look of the hotel and I went with it,didn't listen and I'm so glad that I didn't it was great. I believe that some people just want to much for cheap and in my case I got cheap and I got a lot. Please if you are planning trip to Cancun go with Mayafair sure you won't be disappointed it
Great work Mayafair team and I will see you again soon I promise 😊
The hotel seems to be an abandoned shopping mall (not "in" - it "is" the mall itself!). The rooms are modern renovated and clean, but if you look at details, it starts adding up. It was unfortunately very noisy (there are no entrance doors, but just some walkways between your room and the street). Also our toilet didn't work for some time because of the lack of water pressure. The staff is very helpful and nice and all in all, you get, what you pay for. If you're ok with taking some drawbacks, you get a good stay for little money in walking distance of all the action.
The hotel itself was very peaceful, unique and good services. Closest beach is 5 min walking.
The only concerns I had was the humidity of some rooms (some had no windows)
Also, careful with the mexicans in front of the hotel that advertises tours and trips around the city. They charge much more than you should pay for
Great place, super nice acomodations
It's a three star hotel but the service is good. The rooms are very comfortable, specially ones in the third floor. I don't recommend rooms in the first floor.
We had a wonderful stay here! I let the hotel mgr know it was my wife's b-day..Her & her staff came to our rm with A CAKE & BALLONS & Sang For HER!! It was AWESOME!! The rooms are GRT! Locally centered to everything in walking distance..
Great rooms, great location.
Old mall in the process of being a hostel and hotel. Awesome for the price.
Reasonable price comparing to other Hotels in the area, awesome location! Suitable for young crowd, the common area is laud almost all night, people stay there watching TV, using the free computers and chatting (also free coffee, tea and water). The Wi-Fi never worked, I asked the front desk and they assured me that it had just been fixed and was working, but it didn't. Part of the Hotel is a Hostel, (Hostal Mayapan) the Hostel side has an elevator, but the Hotel side doesn't. The front desk is outside the Hotel and to get to the Hotel, you have to go up the stairs, so it is not easily accessible for people with disabilities and strollers, unless you go around the corner and use the Hostel entrance.
The hotel front desk help was not helpful, we had to ask for towels and blankets, the blankets we never did receive - the beds were never changed, the floor was not cleaned. The odor of must and mold was overwhelming. This should not truly be considered a hotel. It is completely dysfunctional.
Overall the hotel is nice, however, there's a lot of construction going on that woke me up in the morning. Our room was nice and comfortable. Our room had some water issues. They fixed it the water 1st water issue (water was leaking from the wall), then a second water issue started (the toilet wouldn't stop flushing). The hotel was quick to fix both. The hotel is located in the central hotel zone, so you are in the middle of everything and walking distance from the beach. I did enjoy my stay here but could've done without the construction and water issues.
