Not the worst beach club as far as amenities go: WiFi, bathrooms, VIP area with a pool (extra money for that, obvio), etc. However, the drinks and food are super pricy. Drinks (with the exception of beer) are all over $10. Service is okay, hit and miss depending on who you get, but generally friendly/professional. They expect you tip minimum 10% at this club at the time of bill payment, even if you have been tipping along for service. Don't fall for that, tip once at the time of payment, not as they bring you drinks, bus tables, etc. The tab adds up quick, watch-out. 3 stars cause the beach is amazing and an overall mediocre experience.
Well worth the VIP price. Recommend bringing your own towel and beach toys. Ask for Nilton for top-notch service.
We came to Playa for six weeks & went to Mamita's several times. The price was ok 600 pecos for the day with 300 towards food & drink. Service was slow but the waiters were running all over the place in the heat.
My only real complaint was all the people constantly walking through. They have security but the people that are just walking through can easily steal your bag. They should block off their parts of the beach with one entrance to Mamita's. Overall I will definitely go back!
I love this beach club. My spouse and I was originally suppose to go to Coralina Daylight Beach club but they were entirely too expensive just for a daybed, drinks, or food. So we happened to follow a crowd to the other side where we came up this place. We were immediately seated and the rule was to pay 600 pesos for a beach chair and whatever we put on the tab or left over goes toward food and drinks. It was well worth it. We got two beach chairs, umbrella, a bottle of wine, and water. Definitely will be back!
Exorbitant prices for mediocre amenities. Drinks and cocktails are watered down, service is terrible.
We were super excited about this place and got very disappointed.
The beach is beautiful but very crowded. The service we received was pretty good. My biggest complaint is that they allow smoking on the beach. What a way to ruin the fresh ocean breeze.
This is a nice beach club but they charge you for everything Even for just standing there. But the service is decent and so are the drinks and food.
Great lounge chairs restaurant and hotel. When we went the beach was very crowded and you had to pay 300 pesos to have waiter service and lay on the lounge chair all day long. The beach was very relaxing and the waiter brought us drinks all day long. Everything was a bit on the pricier side but there was a DJ all day long.
We are yet to stay there, but my husband & I were so very happy to see from the pictures & recommendations from other locals that Mamita's Beach Club may be the only ones who rent Hobie Cats or small tri-hulled, 2-4 people, sail boats in the Play del Carmen area. 3 cheers!!! We have been looking & looking for this. Please confirm the price & we look forward to doing business. We notice the you close up at 6:00, so weather permitting we are hoping to be able to rent one late in the afternoon or from 4:30 -5:30, or 4:00 to 5:00 at the earliest because we have excursions planned everyday & do not return until late afternoon.
Looking forward to our sail with you!! My husband sails well & we are planning on taking the boat out ourselves.
Spent less than 45 minutes here. They dont do one inclusive charge for umbrella, towels and wifi. All plus plus. No one is using the pool as that's extra charge. Over priced, poor service and not at all great value. The chairs on the beach are outdated, no music playing and staff are not attentive. Drink we were suggested tasted like cough medicine. After leaving they had the nerve to ask for a tip! We are staying at the Grand Hyatt just down the road with impedicable service, 3 pools and beach front. Regret leaving to explore another club for the morning. Do not recommend.
I wish I can give this place less than 1star. Super dirty, lots of sea alge and on top of that, rude customer service (see pictures attached). I came with my wife and daughters, and as soon as we sat down under the umbrella, one of the employees arrived to request the rent, $100 Mexican pesos per person (I don't think they charge for kids). So I ended up paying 300 pesos because they charged us a $100 deposit, just in case we decide to steel the umbrella and chairs.
After, paying the required amount I took a close look at my receipt and I noticed something weird. They gave me a fake receipt (see picture attached), as a business owner I can tell you that the receipt is just a useless piece of paper, it doesn't even have the company's name. It just a test receipt created by the system during trial periods or training. A clear way to avoid taxes.
Also, be aware that you cannot bring into this are food or beverages. They do not allow it. I saw them making a big deal for a cup of coffee. They do it to force you to buy from them.
They forced the people from the next umbrella to eat their food a outside their area (once again see pictures attached). If you are able to bring your own umbrella, chairs or towels please do so.
According to Mexican laws the beaches are free. So feel free to lay down and enjoy the dirty beach right in front of this guy's without paying them a dime.
I don't recommend this place to anyone. Try something else. México has lots of beautiful places. I will never come back to this place.
An affordable place to enjoy an afternoon on the beach. Lounge chairs cost $100 pesos each (about $6 usd), and the food is okay and decently priced.
Given its popularity, this place tends to fill up by early afternoon. We've been a few times, and every time we arrived after 2pm, we had to negotiate a bit with the staff to get a place.
Also keep in mind that a) you'll be packed in a bit tight, and b) the wait service is very friendly but can take its time getting your order, as they always seem stretched a bit thin.
That said, if I was looking to spend a day at the beach and spend about $30-$40 on everything, this is the place I would choose.
We had an awesome time! Great customer service.
Federico the Manager was super courteous and professional! The Bali beds are so comfy. The California Rolls and Shrimp Tempura were delicious!
Worst experience I had with a hotel. My wife and I were pulled into a timeshare presentation. After we did not buy, Josue and Educed did not give us the vouchers for what they agreed to. They sent us out the door without a ride back to our hotel. They told us, "its not that far, you can walk" . I am so glad I did not buy into their program. SCAM! Stay away from this resort and any presentation they want to sell you!
The staff were so wonderful . We had Martin and Adrien. They are constantly making sure you have everything you need Food, Drink. Rental for chair and umbrella is so cheap! Great place at the beach
100 pesos per chair 100 deposit. Food is good. Service is decent, free wifi. Cheaper than the place next door, but also too can just bring your own beer and sit on the sand. Nice place overall.
Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beach. Edwin the waiter was awesome, made us feel very welcome and looked us after us very well.
We felt safe. The food was good and reasonable priced, so were the drinks.
