This is a great hotel as far as hotels are concerned. Variety of food was fantastic. Great nightly shows. The resort, however, was on the smaller size, so at times, it felt very crowded. The only thing that I would say that I was disappointed with was the beach. Beach was not as clean as expected due to amount of seaweed that swept ashore. On the days we were there, the waves were rougher than expected. Swimming at the beach was limited due to the severity of the waves. Overall, the hotel was nice and the staff were friendly.

This was our 2nd trip back to the GR Solaris (10 years later) and it has not changed a bit! I was expecting a decline in service or experience and it was exactly how I remembered. I also want to thank Rafael the Beach Lifeguard for helping my husband and I. We went a little too far out and were losing strength trying to get back to shore and he saw we needed help and got two adults (total 300 lbs) back to shore. I will forever be grateful for his help. If there were no lifeguards on duty I don't want to think about what could've happened.

This is a nice hotel on the beach. 5 restaurants and 4 bars means you won't be hungry or thirsty! The shows are amazing! Don't miss them. The beach is great and 2 pools. If you're interested in a 30 year vacation plan listen to their sales pitch. They will give you good deals on excursions if you listen to the 3 hour presentation that turns high pressure at the end. If your not interested just say no. Not sure if the savings were worth it. Have Ivan help you when you get there he's awesome.

This place is amazing! I was skeptical on booking here at first due to some not so good reviews but I'm glad I didn't read too much intoWe loved it here! The food wasn't bad at all..It's nice and very clean! The beach is nice pool area beautiful nothing to complain about .There's always something you won't like no matter where you go..We came here to celebrate my birthday and our first Anniversary and I'm glad we did!

Had a great time there! Not the fanciest resort by any means, but the staff was friendly and courteous, the rooms were clean, the buffets were better than average, and the reservation restaurants were delicious. There's only one bar open past 10 pm and it closes at 2 am, but you can buy bottles of liquor for your room for the same price you can get the equivalent brands in the U.S. . The bars are all completely included with an all inclusive packages though so depending on how long you like to stay up you won't even need to do that. Best bars are the pool bar during the day if it is warm enough to be in the pool, and the patio bar for the afternoon and evening till it closes. The lobby bar is the only one open past 10 pm, it is decent and has live music every night. Also the resort has shows every night at 8pm and some of them are definitely worth seeing, especially the Michael Jackson tribute show. Hope everyone else has a great time out there!

Two words: Food Poisoning! I was there from 11/13 to 11/18. The hotel staffs overall are nice. Compared to other hotel location , if you like to be on the quite side, then GR is a great location for you. Not too too far from downtown, but also almost nothing is in the walking distance. Just beware of food poisoning, wash your hands all the time . Don't drink the water from the sink, including ice. Avoid buffets as much as possible, try to use grill bar or fine dining restaurant. I got food poisoning or gastroenteritis at the hotel, vomited 5 times and diarrhea over two days . I have to end up finding a doctor there, paying $160. The front desk people said they gonna report it , and someone gonna follow up with me. In which , never happened ( maybe because the phone in the room isn't working , which tells you how often they check the room condition). Anyways, there are good and bad things about the hotel. Maybe it's just me having a bad luck.

Well we’re back from our belated honeymoon. the resort is very nice! The rooms are clean but a bit outdated. Also the walls are paper thin. We had some loud neighbors and had to be moved to another room. They upgraded us so it was all good:) The pool is clean and nice and I can’t say enough about all of the workers! Everybody is very hospitable and willing to help out at any time! my only complaint is the food:/ Best thing is the breakfast and the omelette bar! We have one good dinner at the restaurant that happen to be seafood night! salmon, steak and shrimp were delicious!! Overall my wife and I had a great time!

Hotel is gorgeous. Has a grand entrance that really steals the scene. Hotel staff is very accommodating to your needs. We stayed for 4/3 and had a progressively better time each day. Food choice is average for buffet food. Pools and hot tubs are well cleaned. Family friendly and beach is very accessible. Planning another trip in 6 months with our kids.

Great vacation experience. Hotel staff very accommodating. Sales person Rosa persistent and helpful. Housekeeping Remarkable! Hotel, Rooms, were home-style clean. Waiter, young man Jair, phenomenal! Great service, very Charming and Welcoming Personality! The Fitness Center very small (antiquated, equipment, so old they all squeak, treadmills are obsolete) fitness room does not compliment the hotel, and the quality of food, one example is (margarine vs Butter) cold vs. hot, prevents a 5-Star rating.
Society today is becoming more holistic health conscious, its equally important to maintain my workout regiment while on vacation as with other inviting activities.response / report this review -

My wife and I took our belated honeymoon to Cancun and we stayed at the GR and had a great vacation. The food and drinks are not the best but with everything there is to offer I never had a hard time finding something to eat. Room service was prompt and 24 hours, it was so nice to be able to pick up the phone at 2am and have a piece of chocolate cake at my door in minutes. After we were there for a couple days and the staff recognized that we were tippers our service then went from great to outstanding. The best tip I can give is to tip $ your servers and it will come back to you. I think this was the only vacation that I didn't want to end eventually. Incredible staff. We love this place and will be back someday.

The hotel is really nice and we even got a free upgrade with an ocean view and Jacuzzi! The bartenders only know basic drinks but will make anything if you tell them how to make it. The only compliant I have is that we booked a room with 2 beds and they gave us 1 big bed. Sharing a bed with my brother wasn't part of the plan, but they did bring in another bed. My cousins (brother & sister) also booked 2 beds but only got one big one. Once again the hotel brought in another fold up bed, but at the desk said that they couldn't change the rooms. Something about only having certain rooms available. It's kind of annoying since we booked the rooms with 2 beds in January. But overall it's a fun hotel that's not too far from downtown. The food is great but room service could be improved (not everything on the menu was available). The age range varies so it's fun for everyone

My husband and I went to Cancun for our anniversary. We stayed at GR SOLARIS, and it was amazing. The hotel is located just about 15 minutes from the airport and about 25 minutes from downtown Cancun. The staff was great from the moment we walked into the hotel. We reserved a deluxe room and the front desk upgraded us to a beach front room upon arrival. The food was fantastic and the staff worked very hard to accommodate any of our additional requests or needs. The nightly entertainment was absolutely amazing. From shows in the ballroom, to live music in the lounge bar, to the pool, there is constantly live entertainment. We were beyond pleased with every aspect of our experience and can't wait to bring our kids back with us next time.

This hotel is absolutely amazing! They have three different pools: one with a swim-up bar, one for adults only, and another for playing, having its own set of basketball hoops and water polo goals! All of the staff are really nice and helpful. The hotel is right on the beach so you can walk right out on to the beach if you want to; the water is not cold at all, it's actually really warm. The hotel has its own restaurants that you can eat at every day, all inclusive. This hotel is totally amazing and I would recommend this place to any who wish to come to Cancun!

Disregard all the reviews on here, mine will be the most helpful. Food kind sucks unless you're a fatso. Drinks are kind of weak, so you have to drink a lot. Don't even bother with the restaurants that you have to book a day in advance because the portions are communist sized. Drugs are available right on the beach but are of poor quality. Expect to take a bunch of what me and my friends dubbed "soft Mexican sh-ts" frequently. Water pressure in shower is low. It's a nice hotel for sleeping and hookers just go to downtown for all your meals. More of a 3 star hotel.

The location is beautiful and it's a really quick ride from the airport. I visited for a wedding and booked a room with my husband. When we checked into our room they had given us 2 double beds instead of the single king we booked. They told us they didn't have a single room with a king available, and we thought it would be more trouble than it was worth to continue fighting so we stayed in the room with two doubles which wasn't ideal. The food compared to other all-inclusive resorts I've been to was not that great. It was not very authentic or good quality. Overall the wedding was beautiful and we had a great time, but I don't know I would come back.

The rooms are very nice. We had an ocean view. Food is a bit bland in restaurants . Snack bar pizza was very good. Deli was good. Staff helpful and kind. Entertainment was good. Fun poolside games and activities.

Just got back home a few hours ago & I had a amazing time, as this was my first time in Cancun & really enjoyed my stay.. The pool was always fun and we met really great people.I participated in the water aerobics, which was pretty fun. They had different activities at the pool each day. Only Con, the food was pretty bland. We ate the food by the pool most of time because it was more flavorful. The hotel sits right on the beach, so u can leave the pool and hit the beach for a while. The bus is $1 and it runs 24hrs, we went to the city for some shopping, the ride wasn't long at all to get there. Alot of the reviews had me discouraged to book this hotel, but I stuck with my gut & I'm glad I did. They have entertainment at the Lobby Bar was which was fun to see everyone having a good time. The food at Marco Polo (reservations required) was actually pretty good, the portion size was small but that was a nice setting to get dressed up & have a nice dinner. I had a really great time & enjoyed the resort.

I absolutely loved this Hotel!! My husband and I stayed here for 4 days for our honey moon and they made our stay absolutely pleasant. All the staff was very friendly and always so helpful. All the employees were very well mannered and presentable. I would say we definitely got our money's worth, it was all inclusive so we never worried about breakfast lunch and dinner on top of drinks all day long. :) the hotel itself was very pretty and I really can't think of anything I didn't like about it, it's right on the beach so would go down there whenever we felt like it. If we ever go back to Cancun I am almost positive this is where I'll be staying!
