Loved the property. Our room was nice but small. Could be a bit noisy at night as our room overlooked the neighboring property and it was spring break. The staff was very attentive and worked very hard. The food was average but appreciate the consistency of it being fresh and hot.The pools were fantastic and there was ample seating and umbrellas. I find it odd there are no lemons for drinks, only limes. We asked several times. To bad the road leading to the property is not maintained and makes you feel like your shuttle might have taken a wrong turn. Once you are inside the property gate the place is amazing.

Service here is wonderful, and the location is very good, just over a mile to the marina and downtown shops/restaurants. The kids were very entertained by the staff and truly enjoyed themselves. The food is average and best to stick with the traditional mexican fare. Great tacos. The cocktails were weak and overly sweet, and the wine is just not good. However, that is probably not unexpected at all-inclusive. The rooms need updating, but the beds were just plain uncomfortable.

I visited Cabo with about 20 people for a group birthday celebration. Let me me preface this by saying that this was 1) my first trip to Cabo, and 2) my trip happened to coincide with the Spring Break season, and 3) this was my first time to an all inclusive.

From the time we arrived @ Riú Palace, we were treated as we had just arrived off a private jet and we're some sort of celebrity. The check in process was easy for me, but some members of our group had requested they have rooms close to one another. It took the front desk a little bit to figure that one out (about 2 drinks @ the bar). Again, my experience was much easier. The other members of my group ended up getting rooms with beds pushed together - I got a king bed to myself!

During our 4 day trip we frequented the pool, which had very gracious staff that kept us with full cups all day. With an all inclusive I understand they have to make money, but you will end up drinking some bottle shelf booze. Tip and they give you the good stuff!

The buffet was amazing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A few in out group tried the Japanese restaurant and we're underwhelmed.

It also seemed as things at the hotel closed early as the only thing available after about 10/11pm was the 24 hour (basically a room with self service beer and booze and basic drunk food: nachos, fruit, bread). There is a bar in their sister hotel that we checked out one night, open till 3 or 4am. Not like the bars downtown but somewhere to get a drink with your wristband.

Our room service staff kept the rooms very clean and made up each day. Over all a great stay. Wish I had more photos!

One of the better all-inclusive resorts. Very clean and great views. Food was awesome as well. Just wish they had a better selection for room service. Make sure you explore the whole hotel, or you may miss a restaurant or two. Staff is very friendly and busy.

It was an amazing stay! All of the employees are so nice and helpful! Great service at each restaurant! Awesome buffet for breakfast. The view was so nice from the oceanfront room, especially for sunrise and sunset from our balcony. We will definitely stay at the Riu again!

It doesn't get much better than this place. All inclusive food and beverage along with attentive staff make staying here perfect. It has a good gym and is right on the beach. Only a 1km walk to downtown Los Cabos along the beach. Watch out for locals trying to sell everything from souvenirs to dope. I would definitely stay here again.

Spectacular natural setting for the resort. The service was good. There were four bottles of hard liquor in the room, refilled daily and the room was decently big. The food at three of the six restaurants on site were mediocre (but buffet style). I don't care for flies sitting on my sushi and food in general. The Indian restaurant was good, the Mexican one was good as well. There weren't any issues with loud noises from other guests or loud music from the resort or the one next door.

Great service and staff. Breakfast is awesome, lunch is good, and dinner is hit or miss depending on which restaurant you go to. The best part about this resort is the spacious pools and evening shows. I wouldn't recommend drinking the alcohol though because I honestly don't know what it is. Probably for safety reasons but you really got to work hard to get a buzz on anything you drink. Drinking straight alcohol will just make you feel sick to your stomach and unhappy. Go out in town if you want some drinks or buy something and bring it back. Nearby Walmart sells liquor. Enjoy the beautiful views and have a good time.

One of the best resorta I've ever stayed at! Rooms are clean and staff members are friendly. The food at the restaurants is great! The buffet food is OK. Don't miss the breakfast brunch with more than ten juices to choose from and a huge variety of food. Bartenders are quick paced and get drinks to you as quick as you order. They live for tips, so be generous and they will do the same. All types of excursions available in the area. Don't miss the water taxi to see the arch and lovers beach. We opted to stay for an hour and it was a good buy at $40.

We went here soon after the tropical storm that hit in August. The hotel was back up and running and didn't leave much of a trace.

The pools are nice and they have some decent activities throughout the day.

The food is hit and miss. Room service is limited. They have a 24 hour lounge that usually has pretty decent food. The Indian restaurant is fantastic and had the best food on the resort. The rest are decent but not great. The breakfast buffet gets boring pretty quick as it is the same thing over and over.

I don't think I would go back to this resort.

A wonderful relaxing experience. Staff are friendly, helpful and work very hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. For the best dinning experience I recommend going early to avoid the largest crowds.

UPDATE: Okay, so perhaps not all the restaurants are the same in this regard. Went to the steak house early and it was very very busy and the service suffered because of it. Took over 1.5 hours to get our steaks and they were all well done. No one ordered a well done steak at the table. We left before desert. But, one bad experience out of a week is not a large complaint.

I went in the middle of Sept for 1 week to the Riu Palace for a family vacation.

The hotel was quite nice. The staff were very pleasant and most knew English. Usually, guests who stay at the Riu Palace are allowed access to the Santa Fe next to the palace, but due to a hurricane, no one was allowed access. The Santa Fe is typically known for its younger crowd and is a better environment for singles as the palace is better for couples. This resulted in people going downtown to enjoy the party life, but the resorts taxis will overcharge you to do so, unfortunately - you would think the Riu Palace would offer some vouchers for the inconvenience with the Santa Fe, but no.

Also, it's not particularly enjoyable to be a tourist when the country is suffering because of natural disasters, but the people are still kind and accommodating, regardless.

Anyway, the food is good but there was a serious fly problem that needs to be seen to.

Overall, I would recommend this resort to couples who are looking for a nice getaway.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, and the food is delicious. You have the opportunity to make your time here what you want. It can be fast paced and full of excursions, slow and laid back with days of relaxation, or somewhere in the middle. We brought our 3 kids (ages 1, 3, and 5) and still had a blast. I definitely want to come back!

Hotel was super Clean. Workers were hard working and always had a smile, top notch. Room accomodations were good but not 5 star. FOOD was good but not great. Specialty service like hotel doc and wheelchair stuff get a 1 star. And the hotel recommended taxi drivers get zero.

Don't bring money or valuables. We were robbed day one. They tell you to use your safe. Ours didn't work. They said they would send Maintenance they never did. They watch you come and go and when you are headed to eat or swim they go through your room. Night two between the hours of 7 and 9 PM we had three different people knock on our door to ask us if we needed anything. Keep in mind our do not disturb sign was out. This never happened the rest of the trip. One of the knockers, knocked three separate times before we finally answered. Our do not disturb sign was out because we did not want to be disturbed. I have a feeling he was coming back for more money. There are many positive experiences but they were heavily shadowed by negative experiences. We approach management and they said oh your money is long gone now. They wouldn't discuss it. I gave two stars for the food and cleanliness of facility.

    Pros:
    The property is amazing.
    Breakfast was good.
    Bar staff are attentive.
    Public areas are clean

    Other negative experiences:
We gave $200 for massages in a room that had buckets to catch water dripping from the ceiling. One of the buffets had water dripping in it from the ceiling. Our room had maybe (geckos) crawling around. AC quit working. They did have someone come quick to fix that though. We got there 4 hours early. Told us our room would be ready by three. Room was not ready until after three.

READ THEIR FACEBOOK REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BOOK.

Couldn't enjoy the view because of the sick horses. The locals want you to spend money and ride them. They don't give them water..One horse who clearly had colic laid down and didn't get up till a fellow guest..Whom I didn't know, went and grabbed a large water container from the bar and ran out there and poured it on the horse. The resort says they can do nothing because it's the beach. But we're there customers paying 10,000 to enjoy a vacation and there soliciting us constantly. I have stayed at several all-inclusive resorts before. This was my first experience with clearly animal abuse. If your human at all this will affect your vacation! Second thing once your on the beach or down town they offer you coke! A total of 6 times to my teen son who was there on spring break. My husband and I twice. Couldn't wait to get home

Spend a lot of the time in the room trying to fix the safe every day with the security employees. It would work, and then next day give an error. They kept saying 'wait 5 minutes' as beach time kept passing. I finally got fed up and told management to change my room. They made it sounds like I was the problem, and not the safe. Management said "you need to press the pound button, not the lock/unlock button after your code!" Funny thing is, there is NO pound (#) button on the safe in room 4024. I'm waiting for security as we speak in my room while watching people have fun in the pool. Waiters, waitresses and pool side staff at the hotel are all friendly and helpful. I took off 3 stars because safe issue was not dealt with until more than half the vacation was over, and because the security employees were rude and not friendly at all.

    Excellent place all around!
Service was amazing! From the guy dusting off pictures in the lobby, to the gals mopping the floors hourly - I felt really welcome!
Front desk were knowledgeable and fast!

Food was great everywhere and they had spared no expense from beef tenderloin to huge disks of Parmesan in the buffet!

For best entertainment, walk across to their sister property, the Santa Fe, which is party central!

Tried snorkeling, scuba diving and swam with the dolphins! Excellent across the board!

Had a fantastic 7 day stay. The swim out room is amazing and one should consider booking of its available. Raul at the breakfast buffet was really great. Took care of us like royalty. The resort is extremely clean throughout. The food at the restaurants was decent, however we felt the buffet was the best bet.
