One of the top hostels I've ever stayed in. Table service and freshly prepared breakfast. Comfortable beds and warm showers. Pretty interior and amazing views over Guanajuato. Good facilities for cooking and helpful staff for travel advice.

It was nice and quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful. Just 15 minutes on foot from downtown erea.
Breakfast is really nice and delicious and the view to city is magnificent.

It is a great hostel. They have more than 1 house. Breakfast is different each day, they use mexican ingredients, very tasty and a bit spicy. All tge staff is very very friendly. The view from the terrace on the main building is amazing! Beds and pillows were comfortable. Shower had hot water. Its a 20 minute walking away from Teatro Juarez. It's located on a quiet street (though we were awaken by the dogs barking) It's a bit more expensive than other hostels in Guanajuato but it's worth it.

Casa de Dante is by far one of the best hostels that I ever stayed. The decoration is simply amazing and inviting. The walls are painted with Mexican pastels colors such as pink, yellow, and with pre-columbian designs and patterns. The room I stayed in had a mural, and it was not particular just for that room, there are murals through all the hostel. Breakfast is included, and it is delicious. The coffee is great, and usually it is a substantial breakfast such as eggs, enfrijoladas, pan dulce, fruit, and juice. The only downfall are the stairs to get to the hostel, which is compensated with an amazing view of the city.

Casa de Dante is a fantastic hostel. The decor is bright, colourful and filled with unique pieces throughout the hostel.
The staff are friendly and accomodating, ready to help whenever it's needed.
The breakfast is delicious and varies on a daily basis.
The hostel is just outside of the old centre and a 5 to 10 minute walk will get you to the sights.
If you can handle 2 or 3 flights of stairs without any difficulties then Casa de Dante is a perfect fit for a visit to Guanajuato.response / report this review -

Amazing place! Very Mexican, great attention, great breakfast and great overall experience. The only downside is the number of stairs you have to take to get to the place But still is an experience (feel young and enjoy everything)

I cannot say enough good things about this place! First of all, it's going to be a bit of a hike so prepare! It's literally situated right in the middle from the top of the stairs to the bottom! So you'll have to do some stair climbing either way. It's not hard to find, just look for the pink building. There will be a sign as well. Check in was super easy. There are 4 floors to this hostel. The bottom floor has a few rooms and is also where the check in/out, kitchen and dining area is. The rest are rooms with an outdoor rooftop area on the 3rd and floor where everyone hangs out. The view..OMG.simply amazing!!!
We had a group of 7 and we all had private rooms, some with private bathrooms and showers. The room my beau and I had was a double bed with a huge private bathroom and separate shower with plenty of HOT water! It also had a small fridge, a couple of margarita and wine glasses as well ;) We had an amazing view from the small balcony of our room!
Note that there is no AC or fan, so it does get a little hot in the rooms.
The free breakfast every morning was delicious and the staff was AMAZING! They even gave us each a gift on our last day there! We've stayed at many hostels and this is the first time we received a gift from the hostel staff! And btw, it's not a normal thing they do, we just happen to mention something to them and the next day they showed up with it! So generous! We also met some really cool fellow travelers as well!
The hostel is super clean and comfortable, food delicious, amazing views, and fantastic staff! Highly recommend it!response / report this review -

This is a fantastic place to stay in Guanajuato! Very friendly staff which makes you feel at home, a clean room and environment, and a great view at the top. I highly recommend staying here! Just a heads up: It's on the side of a mountain and requires walking up a good amount of steps. It's just the way the town is. - A guy from New York.

There are so many stairs so sometimes I really wanted to cancel my reservation and change to the another hostel but If you want to enjoy the night view on the roof top, the stairs are worthy. Also, the breakfast is very good.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Situated high up a hill, you get sweeping views of the city from the terrace. Takes 170 steps to get down to the Main Street and the way up is tiring, but it pays off to know you burned off half a taco in those steps.
The breakfast is amazing itself. Full on service from getting your tea and meal to washing. You can ask for seconds and they change the breakfast menu every morning.response / report this review -

Very cool hostel that is clean, comfortable, and social. Has an incredible breakfast included. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooftop area offers great views of the city.
