Not an expansive resort so pool and restaurants were always a close walk to our room which is great if you have little kids or just need to go get something. I appreciated the fact that the main pool was probably 4 ft everywhere so I could easily take my kid swimming and not worry about treading into the deep end without realizing. I also liked the kiddie pool was next to the main pool. Food was great, no one got sick. Liked the Mexican a la carte a lot. Watched people get the Mexican coffee there and it is cool watching the liquor burn as it is poured down a tower of glasses. Can't swim in the ocean as waves are too strong but I think that is true for all the hotels along this strip.

We just returned home from a wonderful and relaxing trip to your beautiful resort! We loved the size of the resort as everything was close and easy to get to. The pool was the perfect temperaturevery clean and refreshingyet it was also nice to enjoy the large hot tub to warm up when necessary. It was great that the activity and infinity pools were close but separate from the main pool. The service at this resort, whether it be in the restaurants, at the pools or bars was SUPERB! The food and drinks were excellent! We were always served promptly, efficiently and always with a smile! We really enjoyed the specialty restaurants for a change from the buffet and especially the Mexican one as the Mexican Coffee is a MUST to experience! Our daughter is celiac and we were so impressed with how well they treated her always attending to her specific food needs and making special meals for her! A very special thanks to the sous chef, Freddie for making it your personal mission to make sure she was taken care of! The activity staff was also very friendly and attentive! The entertainment was very enjoyable and the performers really worked hard to put on a wonderful show! It was a great way to spend the evening before early bed! The panoramic view from the Lighthouse bar was beautiful but we thought it was such a shame that they don't do more with that bar. It is the only place to go later in the evening and would have been nice to have some live entertainment, a DJ, or even a disco there to cap on the night! Another suggestion would be to change the set up of the lounge area. All of the couch seating was facing the wrong way.(Away from the stage?) It would have been nice if that area was packed with individual chairs and little cocktail tables (like other resorts) so there would be enough seating for everybody! As it is, there was never enough seats so it was "standing room only" for most of the events held in that room. We think that lounge area would be a better space for the main entertainment performances instead of outside at the long tables where is was often quite chilly. Our only complaint about the resort was the lack of chairs and umbrellas around the pool/beach areas which was a BIG problem and it caused people to have to fight for both since most people were saving spots the night before and there was none to be had by morning! The sun was very hot everyday day (many people got sun poisoning as well as myself) so everybody needed shaded protection. This is a resort issue and needs to be addressed asap as it was the one thing that all most everybody we talked to felt was ridiculous and unacceptable! I have never seen the "saving seat" situation this bad anywhere in all our years of traveling! However, except for that, the bottom line is we had a fabulous time and the staff is what made our trip the most special! They were all wonderful in every wayso eager to please, so happy to serve us and always made sure we felt welcome and attended to! We will be back for sure! It was a beautiful place to visit. The whole experience was very relaxing and we felt well taken care of. The scenary was beautiful with the ocean just beyond the hotel's border. We had great food with the many choices of where to eat. From the buffets to the snack bar to the different restaurants located in the hotel. I can't forget the staff. They were all very attentive and friendly. Very good service. All in all, a very memorable week. I would highly recommend the experience to anyone and would like to return in the future.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the food is amazing. However the customer service and accommodations lack.

We reserved and paid for king bed suit yet once we arrived to the hotel they were sold out. Therefore 2 double beds was all they had available.

We purchased tour packages at the airport prior to arriving to the resort. The resort also sold the same packages. They would not transport us to those tours.

We were involved in the resort and another agencies dispute instead of accommodating for their guest they ostracized us for purchasing a better deal.

This place is extremely beautiful. Most of the wait staff are really friendly and helpful. The pools are always clean and well cared for. The buffet is great for breakfast and dinner, I wouldn't even waste your time at the Italian and Mexican restraunt. Was not impressed at all. The food bar (snacks) was better, the buffet is the way to go.
I only have two complaints, maid service is inconsistent, after 2 days you will not get your counters wiped, floors clean and sometimes they won't even give you towels. You will have to call down for them. It's ridiculous. The maid could be there as early as 11, to as late as 4. I didn't like that.
The entertainment is lack, gets boring after 6, nothing to really do. They usually have something going on at 9 but only for 30-40 minutes. It sucks! Most people go out to find something to do, just because the entertainment lacks so much.

Just spent a week here and had a fabulous time! Food was excellent, staff are friendly and helpful, it's clean and tidy and very well maintained. The pools are nice, especially the jacuzzi pool! The beach is nice and clean and there are hardly any beach vendors, unlike in San Lucas where they are hip deep! It's an easy walk to San Jose and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants just across the street. We would definitely recommend it and will probably be back next year!

Just got back on Nov 19th from this Hotel. The grounds are very well kept the food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Some comments about the rooms not clean or something not fixed was not our experience. The light switch did not work in the bathroom, called down and an electrician was there in less then 15 minutes to repair it. Towels were missing from the bathroom called down they sent up 4 within 20 min and a follow up call was made from the front desk to confirm that we received them. These minor inconveniences may have been fixed before we got the room
under normal circumstances. The Barcelo stepped in and accommodated
lots of guests from the Krystal Grand that had an unfortunate sewer break that flooded parts of the resort and main pool and beach area. This is an excellent resort would stay here again in a heart beat. You can swim in the ocean if your a good swimmer lots of fun in the surf can be had.

Unprofessional place. Choose any other resort. No shuttle to airport, food is hit or miss. Rooms are ok pools are great but the service kills anything that can remotely make this place pleasurable. Asked the staff many times to help us with transportation to the airport and only get the run around. Told us to take a taxi. How could you not have a safe service to get to and from the airport. Ridiculous. Also paid for a tour of the arch over paid with the lobby. Go elsewhere save yourself the headache

Beautiful grounds and pool. Chairs not comfortable. No sit up chairs anywhere around pool or beach. Only lounges.
The food at buffet is fair, Italian restaurant very good.
Rooms not as clean as they should be. Terrible pillows.
Very helpful and friendly staff.
Amazing beach to walk down.
Easy to get into town to shop. We felt very safe here. Enjoyed our holiday

The food quality needs to be improved. A lot of the food sits out under heaters and is hard or dry. The staff is very nice though.

We had a fantastic 1 week stay with a large group. We are from Western Australia and we could not have been happier with our stay. Facilities, food and staff were fantastic. We met a lot of great people. It was a great holiday and I would highly recommend to anyone.

We arrived 4 days after tropical storm Lidia made its way through San Jose and Cabos San Lucas. We had an ocean view room on the 5th level. There was not a working elevator or wifi in the building we were in. We tried to be understanding since they had some damage from the storm, but it would have been nice to have been told the elevators were not working. The room and bathroom were not as clean as you would like to see a 4 star resort. There was a lot of black hair on the bathroom counter, and I'm a blonde. The room needed a good scrub down starting with the front door into the room. The room was never restocked with all towels and mini bar refreshments after a housekeeping. We had to make several visits to the front desk since the room phone didn't work. This was our first all inclusive so we did expect much from the food. It was so much worse than what we expected. The specialty restaurants were laughable! The first night there was no air conditioning in the restaurant. It was only a heat index of 100. The shrimp entree had 4 small cocktail shrimp. The Italian restaurant entree of a sea bass was served, but it was some kind of meat. They admitted the cook was confused and prepared the sea bass. We're really not sure what kind of fish this was but definitely not a Chilean sea bass! The service in the Italian restaurant was just terrible. I guess this is what you get with an all inclusive! I'll end this on a happy note. We did have a nice time for 3 days! We enjoyed the main pool with the swim up bar! The infinity pool was not filtered. There was a lot of human hair floating amongst other pieces of whatever in it. It was gross! Also the tower bar and restaurant next to the beach were closed because of the storm. It was disappointing. There was never an acknowledgement there was some real issues and damage from the storm. They should have offered something to try to make up for the lack of elevators, wifi, restaurants, Sky Bar, air conditioning and cleanliness.

We visited Gran Faro Barceló in Cabo and spent 5 amazing days at the resort. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th Anniversary with friends and family and can say we had a great experience at this resort. The rooms were clean and pretty modern, the food was pretty good, and the staff was amazing especially Francisco(Pancho), Jorge, Rigoberto & Victor, we were treated like royalty. We will definitely be back again! I am glad we did not listen to all the news about how its not safe to go to Mexico, as we even went downtown to San Jose, shopped and sat down for a nice cold drink on a bus. Thank you for making this trip the best one yet.

Cons--- My experience wasn't very good we had a leak in our restroom, we experienced roaches in our room, they wouldn't change our sheets, and the night entertainment sucked . beach is for surfing, which my son couldn't really Enjoy. It's very far away from the city of San Lucas where all the entertainment is at. Pools are very hot not refreshing or enjoyable.
Ice machine wasn't working. Chairs by pools are always taken . Need to leave towels out on chairs really early.

Pros--- The food is really Good. Recommend to reserve at restaurants and the food at snack bar is dilicious . They restock your room fridge Everyday. Rooms are nice and cool. They let you swim late. Sky bar has a awesome view. Staff is friendly!!

We are having a great time here. We like our room, the grounds are very well kept, the pool is clean, the food is good, and the staff are friendly. You can't swim in the ocean because of the rough waves and rip current, but the pool is nice and makes up for it.

Hard to write a bad review about an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, but this place is an exception. Our group was treated poorly from the minute we arrived. First, if you want WiFi, you have to pay for it. Second, the food is awful. The only edible thing in the entire place was the chicken nuggets. On top of that we couldn't get reservations at the restaurants because they told us there was no availability for our entire trip. The management also closed the sky bar (one of only 3 bars) after our first night and told us "adults only" (Everyone in our group is in their 20's). Thirsty after a night of drinking? You had to literally hunt down water because they would always say they were out.

Any time we tried to complain to management we were treated condescendingly. They eventually told us "no shots allowed" because it was "spring break". All of this at an all-inclusive resort. There are dozens of more problems we had with our stay, these were just the ones that stuck out to me. This was an absolute nightmare, I would literally avoid Barcelo at all costs.

Spent 4 nights on February weather was a bit on the cool side with Clear Sky's. Hotel is a good value when you consider the prices of food and drinks in this area anymore. If you're coming to relax by the pool it's big with a great swim up bar. Equally great is the giant pool/spa especially if you are with a big group it's separate and somewhat private. Beach access is level with the property so no climbing stairs to get down to the beach. I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful in every respect. Restaurants there are three and a pool area snack bar well stocked with bar food, nacho' s Hamburger/Hotdogs/wings etc. The breakfast Lunch restaurant is Buffett Style with a good assortment of foods most Americans are familiar with. I found both the dinner restaurant and the breakfast lunch area food average in both selection and quality. The restaurants are very cafeteria like atmosphere. There is a nice and a bit more upscale Italian Restaurant available on the main lobby level that I did not experience. It looks quiet where as the other two eating areas are rather noisy. Speaking of noise, my biggest complaint was the noise. If you're a sleep in late and hang in your room kind of person be aware the floors are tile so every suitcase, housekeeping cart and person with hard heels will echo down the inside halls and back.. Three nights a week there is a lounge act in the main bar area and they were very entertaining. Also the hotel offers all kinds of activities around the pool and on the beach everyday. A short walk out front in either direction will take you to a few local business areas, plenty of restaurants coffee shops, and bars to keep you busy.

We booked a King Bed Room but only got two Double beds. Very squishy to say the least. Food was good, although we were only able to get into one à la carte. Would probably try another spot next time.

Talk about being spoiled rotten. They take great care of you here. Great food, very relaxing, beautiful pools. Big hot tub. Swim up bar. Snack bar by the pool. Comfortable rooms with mini bar/fridge that they restock daily.what else could you ask for! We will be back for certain.
