Dhammayan Gyi Temple, build during the 12th century, believed to be the largest temple in Bagan. Inside the temple can see very little wall paintings remains. some I find its like not the old paintings. But it's really big and like a maze.. one can get lost inside. On the four side inside you will see Buddha statues. Behind the statues you find Avery big pillar with walkways around it. Then there is another walkways in front of the Buddha's.. and yet another one .. thus making this temple very big and like a maze you can lost your directions walking inside this temple. This temple is worth going. You can visit this temple and Sulamani temple together.

Dhammayangyi can be seen from various directions, and it is significantly structured and laid with fine bricks. Its design resembles the Ananda pagoda, that is, a square shape, with porches casting out on all four directions.

Tomb Raider style – Largest temple in Bagan, or so I've heard. It was truly very big and well worth exploring. I did not manage to find any secret passages that some people mentioned of though, but I didn't try that hard.

Built by King Narathu (1167 - 1170) Dhammayan Gyi temple is probably the largest templesite of the 2200 pagodas that still can be found in the Bagan area. Narathu who assasinated bis father and elder brother tried to atone for these sins by building Dhammayan Gyi. Vendors here trying to sell souvenirs can be a bit intrusive.

This is the large temple in Bagan areaBut when i went there on March 2017 this temple still renovating after hitted by earthquake in the end of the year 2016..This temple easy to reach from the main road..just simply ride ur e-bike around Old Bagan and this one also well worth to visit..would be nice go around this place by horsecartancient but magnificent;)

Amazing!
This is the biggest temple in Bagan, also the great architecture. Daylight comes through the windows of the temple not to be dark inside of it. What an awesome ancient structure! This place is a MUST visit one when you are in Bagan.

.The largest temple in Bagan.Temple shape is look like pyramid.There are two corridor inside.Built by king Narathu. Building time is 3 years long (AD 1163-1165).Many bat living inside the temple.Discharges of bat are damaging the building and painting on the wall.Some wall painting are still remaining nearly original , especially at the back of Buddha statue.
