Seems like it's the goal of this place to milk as much money as possible from customers. Particularly appalling was charging my 5 year old son $9 for a 'baby breakfast' buffet. The restaurant was five star prices but one star quality. $36 USD for a steak in Myanmar??
Nice hotel. It used to be the Government guesthouse. Well located in the old Bagan area with a number of temples within 15 minutes walking distance.
The dinner place is facing the Irrawaddy river and it is a good spot for looking at sunset.
An afternoon was spent here enjoying cocktails and watching the sunset. Be aware pool costs $12US for a swim. Drinks obviously a bit more expensive than surrounding areas - $6USD at happy hour and snacks will set you back a little bit more. Pool is a great temp though and I’d say the extra cost is a small price to pay for an afternoon of luxury - not to mention one of the best views of a sunset outside a pagoda 👌
Nice hotel in Bagan, well located for sightseeing. Splendid panorama on the river offering magical sunsets. The proximity of the water causes the noise of the engines of the boats very early in the morning. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Good restaurant with a full buffet for breakfast.
Excellent resort with beautiful views and service. But need to change from one-way to two-way air conditioner. It's very cold at night. I can't sleep well.
Hotel environment by the river is superb with attentive and friendly staff. Easy access to recommended pagodas on e bike rentals.
I’m giving two stars only for the view that this resort provides. Otherwise, it’s pretty darn okay. Being vegetarians, we were not given much vegetarian options and on informing the management, the staff made somewhat of an effort but the food was still blah. The lunch and dinner options aren’t vegetarian friendly. The spa offered here is pretty expensive for the experience. For a 1.5 hours spa, they will finish in 1 hour 10 mins and also head out of the room 1 or 2 times in between. The doors of the spa have a very transparent cloth on it so passerby’s can actual see whose inside which is quite uncomfortable. A complimentary head and shoulder massage was given for 10 mins which got over in less than 7 mins and did not involve any shoulder massage. And the price quoted includes a 10% service charge (which is not worth being given for a 20 mins shorter massage). The pool had a massive infestation of mosquitoes in it. No use staying here, just drop by here for a coffee and enjoy the view.
This resort has lovely gardens, on Irrawaddy river particularly nice at sunset!
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort- beautiful hotel with the early morning birds singing, fresh air and virgin nature near the Lake. It's located in the Old Bagan and you can get their on a horse-drawn carriage. Also I had one of the most pleasant SPA experiences in this hotel.
If you need a car for your bagan sightseeing, don't hire a receptions. They call a taxi and get a commission. You will pay more charge.
Friendliest service, very close to temple area, ideal sundowner and pool location with ayarwaddy view, beautiful small pagodas vis a vis reception. For dinner short distance to new baghan / restaurant bibo. Breakfast, dinner, rooms okay.
Rooms need a refresh, but they are spacious. Friendly staff and beautiful views, and good location to walk to the major temples in Old Bagan.
Great view for sure, but that's it!
The food is completely overpriced and the services too. ( e-bikes,transport, tour )
Rooms are old and need a serious refresh.
Staff is nice.
Poor food and very expensive, you can get some gorgeous dishes for a quater of the price in many of the local restaurants. The accommodation is quite shabby and in need of a makeover, definitely overpriced.
