Really nice, especially the riverside view with all, the trees and gardens. Smelled like a thai spa from all the jasmin like blossoms. Exterior of the hotel was starting to age but the rooms were lovely. Restuarant food was nothing special but the sunset view over the river was well worth it.

Nice place, great location, good rooms, courteous staff, tasty food. The room could do with more electrical outlets conveniently located and better WIFI in the room. Also, the pathways leading to rooms can be btter. Overall, a great experience.

Really nice environment and Riverview, old-style furniture is nice, but a bit tired - however sparkly clean, and you get fruits, water, coffee in the room daily. Be prepared to be woken up at 4 lam, as the boats moving in the river have really loud motors

One of the best hotel build with beautiful teak wood and located near Irrawaddy river. Good service, nice hotel room, good customer care with skillful staff is total satisfy for all customer. Including swimming pool is good for relax with your sweetheart.

The hotel is ok but too expensive for the average in Bagan area. Massage is crazy expensive here and not worth it. On top we faced bad experience: we forgot a 50euro bill inside one of the rooms robe and we communicated immediately but management argue they could not find it. Overall we rate the experience as negative.

It is a silent and peaceful place and has famous ancient religious buildings (2 pagodas). You can have breakfast and dinner at river side and enjoy the nature. But it is a little expense for me.

It's a great hotel. We stayed a night at the hotel. Although rooms are a little dark, the hotel have big trees and lots of shades. It's really enjoyable to eat breakfast at the river side.

Bagan Hotel River View has a nice, tropical ambiance. Inside the hotel compound itself are some of the ancient pagodas where you can have your own time to contemplate in silence.

The rooms are good enough., though a bit of sound proofing may be needed.

The staff's service is great and warm.

Because of its location, it is close to the ancient big temples of Bagan like its neighboring Gawdawpalin Phaya.

There's also an ATM here as well.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay here.

Booked this as it was located in Old Bagan.
I was there for New Years Eve - as they were preparing for a New Years Eve party - USD110 to attend - it meant that we couldn't get food that evening. Nothing nearby at night time, shops or nightlife, so I had to take 15,000 kyat return taxi to New Bagan so I could eat.
I wouldn't mind but at USD200 for the night's stay over New Year's Eve - it would have been great if they had made provisions so the guests who didn't want to attend the party could eat. A simple sandwich would have done.

Staff were as helpful as much as they could be.

Pretty central for the temples and Pagodas if you're cycling.
E-bikes available for hire outside the hotel - prices rising all the time.
You're are at the mercy of the two bike/E-bikes rental firms located straight outside as they can dictate prices however they like. You're a good distance away from anywhere else where you can hire a bike - certainly not within walking distance.
8,000 kyat for a day's rental up to 31 Dec 2016.
On 1 Jan 2017 the price went up to 10,000 kyat per day (It's 5,000 kyat per day in New Bagan).
One lady at one of the firms tried to charge me 12,000 for a half day rental.
I guess it's a case of "Supply and Demand" as all bikes were rented out at the higher 10,000 kyat/day rate - all gone by 1pm.

At the end of the day 2000 or 4000 kyat isn't really that much - a few USD. But when the rates are changing daily then your "anti-rip off self-defence mechanism" kicks in and the "few USD" may as well be "USD1000" judging by the way I tried to avoid paying it.

1st room we were in was slightly dated (room 102) - the 2nd room was better.
The 2 wicker chairs they have in the room aren't very comfortable - a sofa instead would have been great - as there's not much to do at night apart from read and maybe watch TV.

Breakfast was OK - at the restaurant by the river. Quite scenic.

Hotel is nice.
The rooms could use some sound proofing: if someone is watching tv expect everyone in a 3 room radius to be able to hear it word for word.
Easy to rent ebikes.
Close access to the temples was super helpful for sunrise and sunset temples, since the roads can be pretty hard to navigate (no street signs or lights) for the unfamiliar.
