We have seen many animals. Beautiful wildlife and flora. The trip was approximately 4 hours. Sometimes a little bit bumpy. Take water with you and binoculars are very helpful. If you are around a must

Great safari! As compared to the safari we did at Yala NP, we enjoyed Wilpattu much more. The park is huge and allows for a more intimate safari experience. Simply drive around and enjoy nature without dozens of cars blocking your view. We saw loads of animals including elephants and leopards. Highly recommended!

Valuable experience. There are 10 bungalows. Have to book from Battaramulla. If you want to animals go at 6 am or in the evening.

A great place to experience nature in Sri Lanka. You could sight a lot of wildlife including leopard, elephants, sloth bear, monitor lizards, peacock, hornbills, eagles, bee eaters etc, but largely depends on LUCK and your guides.
Full day safari is recommended. Always remember to carry enough water.

A big national park, Safaris are easily arranged and you have a good chance of seeing a big variety of animals and birds including the elusive leopard.

Well it's awesome. Beautiful lakes, lots of animals and sometimes if you are lucky you'll see a leopard. Most of the safari jeeps are really comfy as they are Toyota cabs. But remember if you like need to see leopard in one day visit it is your luck and weather and day you choose that matters. So don't get your hopes up but drivers and trackers will do their best to track down leopard for you. Remember it's not a zoo it's the wild where animals live free. So don't blame the drivers if you don't see any. Also follow any wildlife forum to get update on sighting so you can plan your visit when sightings are high.

An Excellent place to truly feel the diversity of nature. Lakes, trees, sea, sand, rocks and animals.

Tip 1 :Try to be here early in the morning!
Tip 2 : Spend a night in one of the circuit bungalows in the park (Kokmote circuit bungalow was great)

If you want to enjoy this safari go there on early morning or evening time.
Then only you can see lot of animals.
Otherwise you may see only deers and crocodile

Well run. Raw nature at it's best. Plenty of lakes. Need luck and patience to spot the animals.

Best time to travel is early morning or evening. If you start morning you can go to beach also. otherwise time is not enough to return.

It was ok but I didn't get to see larger animals like leopards and tiger. I just got to see peacocks and dears. However the ride was amazing!!!

It's dry season at the moment so animals are more difficult to find than normal. We went on a safari from 6am-10am and saw iguanas, wild fowl, an elephant, tortoise, monkeys, peacocks, 2 types of deer and a crocodile. A park guide was supplied with our entrance fee (Rs7000 for 2 people) who was extremely knowledgeable about the fauna there. The place is very well taken care of

Think we had an unlucky 2 days but we saw nothing but other safari trucks. Think the park needs a bit of development.

If you're been on safari in West Africa, this is a very different experience. Most of it is jungle, so there's not much to look at most of the day other than tree branches. There's also no communication between the park staff other than driving up to each other and rolling down the window (unlike the co-ordinated radios in most of West Africa). Most the trucks also have low roofs as well and no means to stand up inside, so long safaris take their toll on your visibility and comfort.

We were blessed to spot 4 Leopards within our 6 hour safari, including a playful cub. Spotted a few small crocs too. I would say a better experience than Yala National Park.
