Not sure where the 5 stars come from. It was dirty. Our feet were black from the floor. Dirt and hair in the shower. The table with glass in the reception was very dirty and not cleaned in the 3 days we were there. Windows were not clean. We got a room in the basement I would call it. Rooms with a window, but looking on a wall, half a meter between the window and the wall. That is the last thing you expect from being in the mountains in a 5 star hotel. I guess they get this comment a lot because the man in the reception was kind of defensive and acted like he did not want to understand my point. "We never said you would get a room with a view". I would recomend if you book this hotel, make sure you dont get rooms 10X. If We would go back to Nuwara Eliya, we would stay higher in the mountains, so you are getting the beauty of it.
Plus was the morning buffet (only when enough guests, but that is normal in my opinion). The bbq was very good as well. The bbq should get nr 1 place to eat in this town. The waiters were very friendly.response / report this review -

We stayed here for a night during the month of February. We really loved the environment, especially the lawn and the view of the wooden cottage.
The cottage was beautifully lit in the night time and was looking cool. What we loved is the rooms which was small and cozy. But we felt little hot inside the room in the night and we didn't find any air conditioning facility inside the room.
Overall the hospitality was too good and the people working there were very friendly and humble. The location was also perfect and near to the city center. Will really suggest this place for anyone going to Nuwara Eliya.response / report this review -

I have been visited only the restaurant I try Beef burger was not that much good but you can eat it, Shawarma chicken was poor and beef was very good , chicken Bariany was very good , also the have BBQ but expensive

Cosy place in Nuwara Eliya if you're not skittish
What we liked:
The atmosphere in the cottage, with the garden and all the wood buildings, is really nice, as well as indoor.
They arranged a driver for us and prepared breakfast package exactly as we requested when we left early for World's End treck.
The hotel is a short tuk tuk drive/walk from the center and bus station.
What we didn't like:
The grill was only OK.
We were a bit cold inside (including in the restaurant where the doors and windows were constantly open).
The staff took some time/forgot to complete some of our requests.response / report this review -

Worst cottage and experience I ever had in my whole life. Around early morning 2:30 am and again 4:00 am no water and I need to walk down to find someone to fix it. After when I started to wash my children's around 6:30 am there is no power that mean no hot water I went down to find someone but apart from a security guy there's no body . No care taker . I ask him to help and he said there is no one to help and I need to wait till 8am manager to come. Finally Manager (Imran) came around 7:45am and didn't even apologise he talked like it's our fault and not even a offering any alternative rooms or compensation or not even a simple sorry. Very bad customer service, very very rude and so bad attitudes. This is our family holiday nearly after 14 months. I also complain to Nuwara eliya police and said I'm not gonna pay a single penny because of our sleepless and stressful night but my generous husband ended up by paying the half of the amount (RS 7000) from the actual agreed amount (14500 per night). So sad to say it's totally mess and ruined our holiday. Very very bad. 😡 Not worth to pay a penny 😡😡

Indian food is reasonable, while the burghers, submarine etc is very expensive.nice cosy sitting environment Service is goodvery few reasonably priced, decent atmosphere restaurants in Nuwara Eliya

Still constructing until 10pm, doors didn't close properly, breakfast was very ordinary. Fine for an overnight stop but I wouldn't have an extended stay there.

+ The style that is really charming, the kindness and dedication of the staff, there is a hair dryer, there are several international power plug converters in the room, anti mosquito product, the price is fair. Really a nice place that would definitely be my first choice if I would come back.
- It was a bit cold (also in the restaurant) but the staff offered hot bags to keep warm and there is an electric heater. My driver didn't like his room and moved somewhere else for the night. Not a big dealresponse / report this review
