This used to be a great place but it starting to look quite dated. The food was also average and the service poor. They are doing some renovations so hopefully things will improve.

Overall its a good hotel. You have access to the beach. Food is tasty. Rooms are average. Swimming pool is not a big one. You do have limited facilities in rooms including free wifi. But,the facilities they provide in rooms are worth the money spent on since this can be categorized as a budget hotel. But the road to hotel is sometimes hard to find for someone who visits the hotel for very first time. I think they should have proper name boards indicating the road.

Some of the rooms are very far from reception and the walk is long and involves many flights of stairs. So if you have mobility problems like I do, make sure you are not in one of these.
The room itself is very comfortable and the view gorgeous.

Old looking Hotel. Very big property. Room are so big but not that clean. Beach is good. But hotel garden has not maintained properly. Food was ok.

Very disappointed. Can't believe this has a 4 star rating. No doubt the resort has plenty of potential with it's great view and location. But its not maintained properly. Even the air conditioning did not work properly and the unit was very old. We booked for a full board stay and surprised to find the buffet was dominated by pork which is one of the cheapest meat found in the market. So if you are not that in to Pork, better not sign up for a buffet. On a plus point, the staff were friendly enough.

Hotel location is OK. But they have bad service to drivers because dirty please to stay and charge for food. Food was very bad.

Very close to all the whale watching tours starting point. Big comfortable rooms, however lighting in the rooms not great. Don't know what it is is with buffets in Sri Lanka but just like all the other places they can't seem to do a decent one. Friendly staff, helped pack an early morning breakfast quickly

Earlier it was categorized as a Small Luxury Hotel. But now they are in the process of upgrading it into a resort with more rooms. Lovely set up, spacious rooms. It has a beach wing and a river view wing. Airconditioned restaurant with the bar amalgamated with pool table to hang around. Nice pool on the beach front.

A good resort in the south of Sri Lanka. Comfortable rooms. Easily the best bathroom that I have had in a hotel anywhere (see photos that I have posted). Good variety of food; a good mix of Sri Lankan and continental quisine. Friendly staff. Clothes irons and ironing boards were not standard, which was a first for me. (I was told by my travel companion that a note in the room stated they are nade available ipon request& free.) The beach was rather a dissapointment compared with other beaches I have been to. Maybe it was due to heavy rains and inland flooding following a tropical cyclone that struck a few days prior to my stay.

Two type of room available
1. River side
2. Sea side - recommend
Buffet is average. No much variations
No much bigger open area within premises. But beach is there and it's bigger area
Staff is very friendly.
TV does not support 3.0 USB. But it does work for 2.0 USB

Rooms are good but below the grade of 4 star.
1.Even there were no toothpaste & toothbrushes and had to ask them to bring them.
2.Most of the time, contact number of Room Service don't be answered & had to call the reception for everything.
3.Buffet was worst, most of wedding reception halls are better than this.
There were very limited numbers of varieties in buffet, even there was no Ice Cream for the desert.
Worst thing was no proper cutlery arrangement, there were only a knife & fork for the lunch and had to asked for a spoon and wait few minutes.
They offer local foods such as string hoppers, Milk rice, etc but don't serve finger ball even after ask for it and says use wash room which hadn't paper towels or hand dryer.

Very dissatisfied should be rated as no star.

Nice spacious rooms. Good view of the bay. Nice Beach. Good food.

But with the glass walls on the room, it can get hot during the day. Air-conditioning effectiveness igets reduced

Very nice food and personable staff. Beach just in front of the hotel is not suitable for swimming as hotel is just next to the river. Pool is clean.

The place is so good. if u wanna quite place for relaxing , here is the best location!!u can go for swimming on the sea & pool anytime easily!! Room also big& clean.

Beautiful room, beautiful grounds. Wifi was intermittent, don't order the lake fish off the room service menu as it was below average. Customer service was lovely at check in, and it's very nice to see young Sri Lankans in customer service learning. However they do need to practise their conversational English as it could get difficult trying to communicate. Lovely people.

Extremely bad experience. There was no water in the wash rooms, very poor service from the staff. We were to go Whale watching early morning, for which we discussed with the manager and he had confirmed that the luggage will not be touched in case we were delayed. However, we were delayed by 15 minutes, but by the time we reached the hotel at 12.15, the staff had already removed our luggage from the room and kept it outside. We had our passports in the locker and were shocked at such pathetic behaviour. The manager was not even bothered to apologize.
Additionally, We had requested for vegetarian breakfast from the hotel and were given Egg and Sausages for the cruise!!!! Their website is totally misleading aesthetically, and it is nowhere close to a 4 star rating.
