We had a wonderful time at Calamander. Room and Bathroom are spacious. Outdoor swimming pools are amazing plus food was great specially the fresh catch of the day.

I absolutely loved my experience at Calamander, the staff have been absolutely lovely and my 2 night stay was spectacular. The rooms are very nice for the price and location of the hotel, and the food wasn't too bad either! I recommend this hotel to family or group travelers.

What an amazing place! The view, the service, the atmosphere!!

Rooms are large and spacious. Very clean.

They have a fresh fish market on the beach so you can choose your dinner every night.

A place to go back to again for sure!

Location: Absolutely fabulous if you love a hot Sandy Beach.
Room: We stayed at the new wing. Large spacious room with a comfortable bed. Fits an entire family.
Food: Average. That is why it lost one star

This hotel is a good balance of comfort, luxury and simplicity. Rooms are decent for the price. Location is good, pools are nice and staff is friendly. A lovely beach stretches in front of the hotel where one can take a long walk. Sometimes fish is sold out on the outside barbeque because it's all subject to availability in the local market. At least it's always fresh!

Nice hotel, rooms are very dated but it's a great location. Right on the beach and very close to lots of restaurants and cafes. The bar at the hotel was good too, they even had a great happy hour. The hotel also allows you to use their stand up paddle boards, table tennis table and other activities which meant we really used the hotel as a base every day we were at Unawatuna!

Nice hotel..beautiful beachfood did not have much variety, but we were always full, so something is right regarding the food.
As we arrived at the hotel, there was this obnoxious security guard, who told parking was full and will have to park outside.I mentioned I had a booking, and anyways parked near the gate inside the hotelI offered to park at the edge, but he was insistent that I park more into the middle of the path, I am sure making it a bit of a hassle for others when they want to get the vehicles out.I feel the first impression is created by the security guards, and its important you have professionals with common sense as security guardsanyways the path outside was narrow, and I would have returned if parking was not available.as for food, I enjoyed the Srilankan sea food mix, but in the last two days it was missing.not sure if this was a cost cutting exercisefurther noticed the hopper mixture was limited, and ran out very quickly after few servings of hoppersreduces food cost I guess.
I was there on a credit card promotion, but even without that, I feel the price will be very competitive considering the room, beach, pool, palatable buffet food etc.
The beach was beautiful, but noticed two beach boys were walking two very dangerous looking large dogs in the beach, further the dogs were untiedpretty scaryI hope something is done about those beach boys and the large dogs.
The rooms we got were huge and had a jacuzzi..We enjoyed it..the pool was niceactually there were two pools, and a baby pool.kids thoroughly enjoyedthe staff were great other than the security guard.will definitely recommend and visit again.wished had stayed for another day or two

Nice beach restaurant. Enjoy the swimming or walking along the beach before sunset then dinner as your choice. Buffet or a la carte ..

I went Calamander Unawatuna Beach on 25th of November 2017. I booked a deluxe room. But I got a Super deluxe room as a free upgrade. Room is lovely. It has a sea view. Surroundings are perfect.

I Started the stay with the lunch and it was average. But the dinner and the breakfast are absolutely fantastic. So.. many varieties. Breakfast is the best I had in Sri Lanka. Also they are giving pizzas on request.

Hotel staff is very helpful. Always look after your requirements.

Finally, I would like to recommend this lovely resort for any one who is looking to have a fun in unawatuna beach.

The room is comfortably. Right on the beach. Pool was also good. The dinner was not bad but was not great. There are other places which offer much better food. The breakfast is much better. The service was overall good.

Very friendly and a well maintained propertycould do with a bit of variety on the buffet/a la carte menu but I guess we went during quieter timeslovely views and very close to the beach

Nice hotel on a nice beach.
A couple of km from Galle so easy to see the the old town, cricket ground and fort.
Nice breakfast buffet selection - buffet selection for evening dinner also.
Western food and Sri Lankan curries etc. Both included with the booking.
Strong WIFI and large flatscreen TV in every room.

Very good location in Unawatuna. Room is clean and nice view. It was good jacuzzi in washroom. Also restaurant was good. And you can play water sports near to beach ;)
