This is an expensive hotel with great facilities. Rooms are large and you can reserve your hotel rooms near the Mahaweli river bed. You have free wifi. And also food is tasty. There is a beautiful big swimming pool covering a large part of the hotel garden.

Deserves five stars given four - Reason given at the end.

This is one of great hotels I have ever visited in Sri Lanka. Stayed there for five days. Food is awesome, with a wide range of a selection. Rooms are spaces and enough to accommodate three guests easily. Room includes a mini fridge with chips and drinks. Conference hall is enough to accommodate a medium-sized wedding. There a nice swimming pool with a very deep end. Gymnasium equipped modern equipment and a gym instructor is friendly and professional. There is a snooker table for per hour charge. Staff is very friendly and professional.

All of the above are the good points about the hotel.

Why four stars? The reception staff accidentally put one our bags with other guests. When we questioned, first the lead receptionist did not accept their mistake. But then she said she will send the bag to home the day after. However, day after they said, bag is with a travel agent and gave us the driver's number. When calling the driver he said he can not deliver it to home and we have to come to Colombo to pick it up. But few calls later, they and travel agent agreed to deliver the bag to home.

I was super impressed with service of the hotel. However, with this incident, that feeling was all gone and management should take all the necessary steps to ensure the security of the bags.

We visited during off season, but price is very affordable and the cleanliness and maintenance is really good.. food was okay and they have a good buffet with a variety. Standard room is lager than we thought with a good ambience. Closer to heart of Kandy.

Came here for a wedding, nice location and spacious in a sort of s secluded area, so it's very calm and quite. The wedding halls weren't the best but they had a nice aesthetic touch to it. The food was the best I had in a hotel at a wedding in kandy. I want to try to restaurant in the future as well. Vallet parking Is also available and generally a nice place and a cozy place for a peaceful wedding.

Really nice tourist hotel on the banks of the Mahaweli River. Very nice pool, grounds, landscaping and rooms. Typical Asian hotel buffet meals, which is to say, very good food for a range of tastes. Local dishes, plus Brit, Italian, and American offerings. This is a good choice for visiting Kandy.

Nice hotel- beautiful landscapes, Lots of things to do - boat rides, swim in the pool, visit the historical botanical gardens located a few kilometres away, visit the heritage sites

Of you like river view get the Executive Suite the best river view possible outside of being ON the river. Beautiful location and great way to watch the sunset. It is a bit pricey but worth it. Food is also fairly good.

GOOD: The lobby, the (open) Restaurant & Bar and the Garden with the pool has a very nice oldtimes charm. The buffet is delicious and the employees are always very friendly. The view to the river Mahaweli from our room (old Building) was awesom.

NOT SO GOOD: The service at the Restaurant was realy slow and forgots offen things (had to order up to 3 times).

BAD: The rooms (we where in the old building direct at the river) are very very old, many things broken (Windows doesn't close, gaps in the floor) and not very clean (because of the age) or even absolut dirty (the dirty carpet has been placed back in front of the bed from the roomservice even after we removed it). It's also a litte noisy at night.

This place is amazing. Staff so friendly and food fantastic. We spent valentines night here and celebrating a 20th anniversary. They couldn't do anymore to make this a very special stay. Defo come again!
