  Gelioya railway station is at between Gampola and Peradeniya railway stations and is it main turning point to Embekke, Gadaladeniya and Lankathilaka temples of Udunuwara area.Express trains goes to Badulla or Nanuoya does not stop at Gelioya railway station because some slow trains are working via Gelioya.

  A Station Located which is 1500m above sealevel on the Badulla-Colombo Main railway line, access to the station is 500m via the Kalugamuwa Road, The station was renovated in 2009 with a new platform and double lines for trains to transit
