  There are number of Housing schemes ( Gongitota, Appugewatta etc). around the station. Because the main roads are little far away, their main mode of transport is railway.

  Small type of Railway Station. Lot of Commuter train stop in here. Limited facility. So closed to Wattala Town.

  All slow trains stop here, can get trip of 15-20 min to Colombo fort
