Great experience with the half day dye and half day weaving workshop! I highly recommend taking a class here as the staff is very nice and informative and the location out of town is beautiful. It was amazing to see all the women onsite weaving very intricate patterns. For the all day classes they provided lunch and it was delicious!
Great place to learn about the silk industry here in Laos. also lovely restaurant overlooking the Mekong river. They give excellent classes too.
Discovered the classes this morning and booked an afternoon class. It seemed expensive at first but it was really worth it. My favourite thing that I did in Luang Prabang. I just wished I had discovered it earlier so I could have done more workshops here! Wonderful staff, wonderful location, wonderful class.
Cozy place. Nice view at the restaurant. People are very friendly and helpful. I would love to go back again.
My Husband and I loved visiting this Living & Learning Community. The crafts made here are stunning and make for great gifts and keepsakes! They also have a great restaurant on the grounds that sits overlooking the Mekong River!
This place is amazing. They have 2 shops in town plus the workshop a bit far (they offer free transport) from the center. Here you can see the entire process of production plus courses, a coffee shop and the textiles shop.
Great view with great food
Gorgeous linen
Seemed like a very nice sustainable way to help local Lao nationals make an income from their skills. An incredible standard of quality, some of the art pieces were truly magnificent. They offer a free tuktuk to the weaving village where they offer a free tour and you can see people weaving and learn about the whole silk creation process! That was cool!
I think this is now their flagship store. Get their tuktuk to take you to their weaving village [free] and see the artists at work.
Great place to buy high quality, handmade fabrics. Nice variety, reasonable prices, and amazing craftsmanship. Note that this location is not their smaller flagship store on Sakkaline St. Both have nice merchandise but, as of Feb. 2014, this location had many more items on display.
