Worst experience and dirty/old rooms. Better off going to Muong Thanh down the street.

I came to Laos for 4 days to renew my Thai student visa. I walked in and booked 3 nights (220,000 KIP/night). I got to the room (212) which smelled musky and dusty. Everything in the room was old: AC, TV, Mini fridge, Mattress and sheets. Lighting in the room was bad and when I turned on the bathroom lights, roaches ran into the shower drain. I checked the bed for bedbugs, as I do anywhere I sleep, and found stains in the corner with holes in the fabric. Indicating there was once bedbugs. Immediately decided to find a different hotel.

I wen to the front desk to cancel. They checked the room and I explained why I wanted to cancel. They kept 1 night pay as "booking fee" even though my booking was a walk in. I was so mad, but was to tired to argue.

I instead went to Muong Thanh hotel down the street. A proper hotel.

My advice for anyone thinking about staying at Douang Pra Seuth is check the room before booking/paying. The pictures of rooms look better online than in person.

Location is what name this place great. Other than that it is pretty standard. It's steps away from the the Royal Thai Consulate, in downtown Vientiane. There are about 5 places to eat within a 4 minute walk. Staff was friendly, and spoke English quiet well. I recommend it based on its location, especially if your doing a Thai visa run.. cheers.

Very basic hotel. All of the amenities in my room were old and tired. Wifi poor. The morning breakfast doesn't cater for western travellers, only Chinese buffett. Only worth staying if applying for a visa, but even then there has to be better places to stay. Not recommended

Okay place if you are here to get a visa at the Thai consulate which is located opposite the hotel. A few places nearby to eat for your one night stay.

Very expensive if you book in advance . Room 2700 bhat 2 nights should be closer to 400 for room 50 for breakfast.

Just because the short distance to the Thai Embassy, other than that dirty, air conditioning malfunctioning, missing lamps, no safety deposit box and big question mark hygiene wise. Ants all over the room. Requested 1 hour late check out but granted 30 minutes only despite all the issues brought to the FO staff.

Good and bad. It's just across the road from Thai visa building. However, all depends on what staff are on, and what room you get. Some staff are slow and lazy, with one man on reception who won't even look at you when you talk, he's too busy playing on the computer. Also first two floors have terrible internet, where it just about works on your smartphone, but not on your laptop. The closer you are to the 5th floor the better. Also, you get bus loads of Chinese turning up who completely take over the building. For two nights running, two different groups took over the floor we were on. They were very loud, running back and forth, shouting, fighting, well past 2 am, until one hammered on my door for some reason. I went in the hallway and shouted at them. The hotel staff should have sorted it out. Also, was meant to be 100 baht extra per hour if you want to stay. Kick out is 12. Visa building opens at 1, to pick up passport. However, staff decided to charge extra. It's a easy hotel for visa. But that's it. Only a couple of restaurants around. Main city centre is about two miles away. Also, feels unsafe to walk around at night. Not a tourist area at all.

Not the cleanest of places. Lobby bathroom needed a good clean, and the first room we were given had hundreds of docile flies over the floor and bedsheets.

Reception was very polite and kindly switched our room. The second was more clean.

A good location for those of you arriving for your visa, however, some of the hotels and guest houses in the city centre are much better value.

Main and maybe the only advantage is distance to Thai Embassy. Yes room is big and internet works okay. But design is very old and dark, floor drain in the bathroom was totally clogged so after take a shower you must swim to the toilet) I feel myself there like in scary video game) Wall-view window complements this sad picture. Man on reception was not so friendly, he spent his time for us when we came, but even not take a look on us when we gave them key on checking out.

Even if you run away outside you cannot find something to give your heart feel glad. There one really good Sinouk Cafe, but it too expensive to stay there all the time)) Everything else too far.

We won't come here again.
