The staff were helpful but they all seemed like they'd rather be doing something else. The food is okay, and if you're nearby id recommend it. Just don't expect TOO much quality in service

After my phone, shoes, wallet, and free will were confiscated for not bowing to Mr. Un, I had the pleasure of being thrown into prison. But after I escaped, I heard of this restaurant and immediately went back and boy howdy was I not disappointed. I'm actually still here, so if anyone can get me a ticket back that's be great too. Only 4 stars instead of five because my Pug was raw.

This is another fake restaurant. Few if any ever eat here. If you did, there us no way to tell what you are eating. Considering the fact that the regime is systematically stripping the rural population of every single grain they can find, one has to wonder how they get any food to feed tourists. I suspect they are serving rat but calling it chicken.

The staff members were very friendly, almost creepily friendly. It was as if they were in fear. We ordered the lunch special but we were unable to eat it due to the whimpering. Decided to get a doggy bag and take the leftovers home. We've had Spot for 4 years now. Great dog.

I came here under the impression that this was the only restaurant here that wasnt friend children. Unfortunately my friend rice was the teeth of kids, and my chicken kebab was actually toes. I’d recognise toes anywhere.

    There was no food.

The communist regime is getting out of hand.

I am so hungry, and I haven’t eaten in days. I need food, but there is absolutely none.

I’m writing this review while I’m sitting down, starving, while telling me there’s no food.

    PLEASE HELP ME

The ambience was wonderful. The sulphur smelling food appeared to be small brown sausage pastries with slight pinch of corn. The yellow salty liquid drink was very refreshing though a bit flat. The main course tasted very gamy and beef like - the chef seems to have drawn picture of a heart and what appears to be a name across it. The cardboard cutout window appeared almost real. I could have sworn I heard screaming on the other side followed by sudden silence. This shows dedication to their cooking, similar to Chef Ramsey.

The fried chicken had a unique flavor, perhaps because of the green mold growing on it

Meal portions are too small. Staff are friendly or terrified. Can't tell. Their clothes are dirty and they smell like old cabbage. Don't order cabbage. Order the roast duck and potatoes, it comes without the duck but the potatoes are soft enough to eat. Tea looks like coffee and tastes like stale garlic bread. Overall best restaurant in the city. 10/10 would risk my life again.

I found this place to be very charming. I don't know the other folks were talking about, the servants we much less smelly and emaciated than some of the other local spots. The chaperones even let us take picture even though we had to immediately delete them while they laughed at us. In the restroom someone wrote "for a good time call Kim Jong Un" I thought that was disrespectful because they didn't leave the number. It's a great place to have a taste of local broken hopes and dreams while you enjoy the soft sounds of people sobbing in the streets. Can't wait to go back and do some gift shopping in all the empty shops around here.

Justin, the other day your mom said something like "does Justin Know About Us"? I told her no, but all of North Korea does. For real just go to any North Korea place listed on maps you will find how close Justin's mom and I are. By the way hello reader I have done this all for you. And Justin's mom. And Justin of course.

I always bring my own slippers and to go bag. Don't make eye contact with the chef. I had to give Doug Steckler a two toothpick to get a penny off the ground because he was saying that he thought both sides of it touched the ground. We ended up leaving it there. I think the bathroom attendant was the bartender as the drinks were all the same color.

The first time I went to this place was after I got back from work camp and was hungry because all the rats were gone and I was really hungry so I settled on chilling out with my dead wife and when I got their they said I couldn't bring her in so I though her in the river and went on in (we where going a divorce anyway) Once I got inside the only thing they had on the menu was mice and there slightly smaller than rats and I thought (dam I eat more at work then at this place) then I looked across the room only to see our grate leader telling his men to shot some guy that worked here because apparently he decided to take a little food from him (what scum) so then my food came and (I haven't ordered anything) and the hot American waitress gave me a large red thing that looked like a bug but it had huge claws and out glories leader looked at me and said that it was his then I told him that the American waitress gave it to me and he said only our proud race gets to work in our country and he shot me 5/2 wouldn't want to die again

If you want the real taste of totalitarian cuisine, you simply must come to Chongryu Restaurant. After eating here, I'd say he's more like Yum Jong Un! This restaurant serves upwards of 20 billion people every year, but you'll never need to wait for a table. The row of old airport hangers that serve as feeding terminals are plenty ample. You won't want to miss the Every Hour in North Korea is Happy Hour Happy Hour specials, such as locally-grown and harvested rice and United Nations rice. The dessert course, which is served family style on open airport tarmac, has many calories. And do not forget to pledge your meal and the glorious labors that you performed to earn such a meal to Great Leader. The waiters are very, very attentive!
