The King dedicated the temple to his father Dharanindravarman II (Paramanishkalapada) who was King of the Khmer Empire from 1150 to 1160. The temple consists of a single shrine located on one level and surrounded by enclosure laterite walls.

Rather small and not so famous as the other temples. Much less tourists and more quiet place, ideal for shooting nice photos especially with the green surrounding. Special to see are the roots of a big tree having grown over the doorway. Highly impressive and worth while to visit.

Small, classic Bayon-style monastic complex consisting of a relatively flat enclosure, face tower gopuras and cruciform interior sanctuaries much like a miniature version of Ta Prohm. Many of the carvings are in good condition and display particularly fine execution for late 12th century works. Take note of the devata carvings which show an uncommon individuality. A huge tree grows from the top of the eastern gopura. It is destroying the gate but it is a photo classic. Best photographed in the afternoon. Ta Som is the most distant temple on the Grand Circuit.

We were so lucky to experience it with just my friends since most of the tourists focus on the well known temples which makes it crowded. We were able enjoy the area without any photobombers. Plus the tree structure at the back looked amazing.

The main part of this temple wasn't particularly unique in any way (still beautiful & amazing though). However the entrance at the back had the most amazing sight out of everything I saw at the Angkor complex - the way the tree & its roots had completely grown over the doorway was simply stunning. It was so sensational I sat there for almost 15 minutes, just looking at it.

Another of the the ruin temple in Angkor. This one is great because it is small and not so popular with visitors so you can have a great time wondering around and admiring the temple. Do not miss out the East gate/gopura like me. Exit the east gate and see the tree breaking down the gopura.

Nice small well preserved temple, hidden in the jungle and overgrown with big trees which had become an integral part of its structure. Short walk through the jungle can also be a nice experience – you might find a small Khmer orchestra playing traditional Khmer music, so your walk will be filled with calming sounds (great for meditation). I definitely recommend visiting this one.

Literally temple for uncle. Which is a smaller version of preah khan. There is a nice spot at the back of the temple where you can have a group or solo pic. Its on the right side, where the stones have fallen apart.

You can also find the two trees in one. A normal tree and a trunk tree (or parasite tree) that starts from the top and grows its roots to the ground eating up the trees where its seed started to grow.
