A shot taken from the opposite side of the road in black and white, late afternoon works well. Good to have some people climbing about for size perspective. Save some sweat, let the others do the climbing.

Temple is quite high. You can climb on most levels. The color of the bricks unlike the rocks that might of the local temple are built from is quite interesting. The sun brings out the color of the bricks during the day. We went mid day so didn't get to see the sunrise or sunset, but one of the first things I said when I got to the top was to see at least one.

Amazing to look at, went at sunset but it didn’t really set on the stones, more over the folds in the background. Lots of people at the top but not overly busy.

Very different from other temples in the area, lots of bricks and unique architectural elements. The surrounding jungle makes for a great contrast for your photos. The lion statues are majestic. At least one of the towers, and parts of the surrounding walls, are leaning precariously adding to the uniqueness.

A great temple to visit at sunset but don't follow the crowd and sit on the very top. There is nothing to see except the sun dipping behind some trees, rather sit on the rocks to the right as you come in the first entrance. This way you skip the crowd and have a beautiful temple in the foreground of your sunset shot

We LOVED this temple. We found on our 3 days visiting Angkor, that jungle temples were our favorite, but something about this place won us over. We initially didn't even have this temple on our list, but our driver told us we should make a quick stop, and we were very happy for his recommendation! It has stunning views and very little crowds!

I found the site pretty boring. Came here for the sunset, but a huge tree blocks the view. You better enjoy it from the (rectangular) lake close by

Architecturally and artistically superior temple-mountain. Beautifully carved false doors on upper level, as well as an excellent view of the surrounding countryside. Richly detailed, well-preserved carvings, particularly on the lintels. Traditionally believed to be a funerary temple, but in fact the state temple of Rajendravarman II. Historically important in that it was the second temple built after the Khmer capital was returned to Angkor after a period of political upheaval when the capital had been moved to Koh Ker. The artistically similar East Mebon was the first to be constructed after the return to Angkor, less than a decade earlier.

The top tier of this ancient building is a good spot for taking panoramic photos.

It's probably my favorite temple because it's different from the other temples so it stood out for me. Plus the colors of the materials used are not the usual ones around the templex.

It is a pity that we didn't see the sunset today. However, the temple itself is really attractive. The view from the platform is quite decent as well.

Pre Rup is a great temple to visit in Angkor. It is a partially restored temple mountain, the climb to the top tier is steep and challenging but the view is great. It is not crowded, so it is a great temple for you to wander around, explore and contemplate. It is very peaceful, definitely worth visiting if you have the time.

A up-and-coming place for sunset, it's getting more popular. Close before 6, so hurry up!

This is one of the places tourist guides will take you for watching beautiful sunset. With this one, don’t really expect the sunset to be something special – it might happen that in some specific part of the year sunset can really make the stone turn red, but the only thing we saw was sun getting lower on the horizon, even without the sky changing color. The temple itself is pretty deteriorated and doesn’t offer much in comparison to other temples in the Angkor complex.

Prae Roup is one of the more remote of the temples at the Angkor complex but is definitely worth a visit particularly if you are the climb to the top. Much quieter and more contemplative than some of the very busy temples.
