  Walls are very thin and the shower is on the ground floor. Otherwise, very good hostel in a convenient location

  Great place to stay, a bit more expensive than a hostel but it's really worth the price. Only the way the showers are it's strange, there are no doors so it's easy to walk in on soweone. Also there's no soap on the bathrooms, if you want it you have to go to the shower area. Other than that I really liked it!

  Its a basic hostel but I booked a single room so i wouldnt have to share bed areas but bathroom is still shared. Location is really close to the Gion district which is a lovely area to explore and dine.

  It's a backpacker's hostel so expect a lot of footfalls and sounds of people coming and going almost any time of the day. If you're lucky to have quiet roommates or neighbors then that's good on you. The building's interior is of light material so sounds from the street and within the hostel are audible through the walls.
  
  Otherwise, the place is in a good location. Kiyomizudera (one of Kyoto's temples with the best views IMHO) is close, Gion-Shijo Station exit 1 is 10 seconds from the door and buses traverse the streets nearby. Oh and 'geisha' spotting is possible in the back alleys! 🤘🏼

  Nice folks at the counter. Not so formidable: Forbidden signs literally everywhere, small, one washroom for the whole hostel, old beds, rooms to the traffic street loud. But: cheap - so you get what you pay. ;-)
