  The hotel and the complex it sits on are designed by tadao ando - one of the best Japanese industrial/contemporary/modernist/metabolist architects of all time. If you are visiting the Kansai region, and are interested in design or architecture, it is definitely worth a visit. Much nicer than the water temple Imo.
