Great place. The rooms are pretty good sized for Kyoto. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The design is Japanese modern. The cedar soaking tub in each room is a nice touch. If you have knee problems, the low seating and beds might be a problem. Staff is friendly and generally helpful. The location is pretty convenient without being loud at night. You can walk to Kyoto Station and the subway. The only thing is that there's only three variations on breakfast. So, if you stay more than three days, you will end up repeating meals. We were there for 7 days. The repeat breakfast got a little old at the end. I would have opted for only a few days of included breakfast had I known and just gotten breakfast elsewhere for some of the days.
New and modern hotel that is near the Kyoto Station. Well appointed room. The breakfast restaurant in the basement is a treat! Service is great too!
Wonderful place with very friendly staff!
Amazing bedroom, so beautiful and relaxing atmosphere!
A special mention to Ishiyama-san, from the reception desk: a lovely person!
An ultra modern, yet beautifully traditional hotel in a great location. Rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were super friendly. Worth every cent for a traditional experience with a little bit of luxury.
Excellent hotel with a very contemporary interior based on a classic Kyoto street. The guest floors literally look like old style Kyoto. Service is impeccable.
Absolutely worth the price. The staff is phenomenal. A prime example: my friend and I were looking for a takoyaki plush and the entire staff helped us find where to get one (and the prefecture where Tako papa represents). The room was amazing but the staff made this hotel. Thanks so much to everyone there :)
Very good hotel. Strong sense of design running throughout hotel. Rooms are clean, well designed and serene. Limited bar snacks and tea was actually really bad. Bathroom had great looking wooden bathtub but no slanted back rest, perhaps this is very typical Japanese style. Staff were super friendly. Enjoyed peaceful high tea in the lobby café before we left. Spoke to really friendly girl painting in ceramic workshop. Amazing design, rooms and staff. Only tea in room was a downer
Most staff speak English very well, great room and great food
Service here is extremely good. To me, it is a 5 star hotel service. The pity thing is there is no parking space inside the hotel directly, however, the crew even go with me to park my car to help me to find out the parking lot. Awesome, isn't it? But the parking fee is high ($3000yen most for 24hr)
To look outside, I directly see the 東本願寺 (Higashihonganji). During the night, quiet and calm. I like this place.
This hotel had the best service, with the most friendly and helpful staff that we encountered in Japan. The level of attention to detail and care that was offered is exceptional. They even went far along the extra mile to help us with booking other accommodations on our trip to the next city on our tour.
