Great location and at home reception
Room rates are reasonable
The restaurant is great
Relatively inexpensive place to stay in Kyoto with excellent English speaking staff. For those who want to save money, they have their own kitchen/dining hall if you want to cook your own food. WiFi is available per room and at the hotel lobby. Coin operated washer/dryers, vending machines, and the smoking booth are all located in the second floor. The nearest subway station is located half a kilometer away. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel, with the bus stopping relatively infrequently, at every hour.
Nice location, close to the palace and to a subway stop. Room is cozy but more than meets our needs. Restaurant has a decent buffet breakfast with local and North American style foods.
Breakfast buffet was Traditional Japanese, American and European. They had Fried rice with breakfast meats, Miso soup, poached eggs cereal eggs fresh juices excellent coffee and tea. Rooms were very comfortable but small, Bathrooms were functional, clean and slightly older. Service at the desk while checking in was friendly and welcoming. My daughter asked for advice on Tea Ceremony reservations and they were very helpful with directions and we were very happy with our experience there.
Great location to see the historic imperial palace and castle. Typical small room for Japan. Doors didn't seem very secure and walls are very thin. But for an overnight stay it was a fine room and hotel.
Good central location near subway train station. Nice clean single rooms. Very helpful staff.
While the interior of the hotel is beginning to show its age, the staff has been wonderful and the rooms are rather large compared to other Japanese hotels. The free in-room WiFi has been pleasant surprise given that the website still states "no WiFi". The location cannot be beat as it sits adjacent to the Kyoto imperial palace (hence the name). Wonderful stay overall!
Caters to euro college tourists but okay for anyone really
Close to the palace as described
Restaurant downstairs is decent but definitely designed for euro college crowd
Vending machines and laundry room are available
Wifi is good
Not a bad place, we stayed here with our tour group end of September. Rooms are fine only the bath room very small. Breakfast is great and staff is very helpfull and speak English..have some spare time..a great park accross the road for walksif it does not rains.
A nice and non-nonsense hotel. Relatively inexpensive. 5 min walk from the subway station. Just opposite the palace. Staff can speak quite good English. Good value for the price. Only complaint is that the bath room is really small and ventilation poor in the bathroom.
