Very good capsule hotel in central part of Kyoto. Cabins are larger than average, very clean and modern. Good shower facilities. Staff helpful and professional. Ideal hotel for an inexpensive short stay.

Very cheap, superb location right next to Exit 5. Little walk from South Exit of Karasuma station; I don't quite remember if there's escalator at exit 5 though you can easily find an exit near shijo/karasuma southeast with elevator.

Rooms cannot be locked, and the bed-side lockable closet in my cheaper room type is super narrow, but my 35L backpack fits in just fine. Room depth seems to exceed 2m; height's also ok for me but beware of the overhead TV. Surprisingly quiet for the 4 nights I stayed since people all behaved themselves; your mileage may vary.

The only complaint I have is that wifi is nearly non-existent (male 3rd floor and quite the same in the tiny lobby); there's ethernet socket on the room wall but I didn't bring my adapter. I also only got 3G mobile reception with docomo, but the speed seems ok for texts.

Staff's very friendly and helpful although my English accent seems to confuse them from time to time.

Great place to stay. Centrally located and incredibly cheap for how nice it is. The only downside was the website promised laundry and they only had one machine per floor that was perpetually occupied.

Clean, friendly, and quiet. Allowed me to lock up my belongings and feel safe while experiencing culture shock. Will likely stay again!

Comfortable cabins with television (and earphones). The room includes a safe under the bed. Pyjamas also provided. The shared showers and toilets were clean and never very busy. Ear plugs recommended. Great value and an interesting experience.

Facility is nice and staff is friendly. Only 1 laundry machine for so many male guest. Machine takes too long to wash/dry. Lounge is small and no outlets there. Vending drinks are semi cold.

First Cabin was a very peaceful stop on our trip to Japan. It was quiet and relaxing. The location was great; lots of access to bus stops, subway stations, and food.

Affordable option if traveling alone. The bunks offer the bare necessities in terms of comfort.
