It may seem far away from the busiest places of Kyoto, but it's quite convenient. Close the train station, kombinis, bus stop leading you to the main sigh see attraction and close to busy restaurant street as well as a couple of nice temples. Stayed in capsule room for 5 night and was scared it would be a mistake at first but they are spacious and comfy. Only issue can be who's sharing the other capsules as some guest can be noisy. The big big plus though is the staff. Outstandingly nice :) For the price it's really a excellent place!

Not too far from Kyoto station, easy to find with the map from there website. I had the traditional style room. Very interesting how small a room, containing a toilet, a shower, a sink, enough storage for 2 big backpacks can be. First room had an issue, owner did not hesitate to offer another room right away. Cleanliness for the price so-so. But I couldn't find anything cheaper at that time!
They offer a very nice Map and explain to you all you need to know for your stay in Kyoto. Thanks!

In addition to clean, well designed rooms and easy access to kyoto station the capsule ryokan has friendly and informative staff. Take advantage of any and all recommendations they make! The free kimono experience is also great fun.

i really liked the hotel. the location is great as the main station is in walking distance. lots of options for dinner and coming back from a day trip on a late train is no problem. this could be your hub for exploring the kyoto area. the room is small and you have to make the bed yourself. but we only used it to sleep anyway. hotel has 200yen washer and 300yen dryer, which we used to do the laundry during a long breakfast. did not have much interaction with staff, but they provide a guide book in your room to explain the surroundings and also suggest some itineraries. i would come back.
