Having stayed here now over ten times, I have nothing but praise for this fantastic establishment. The location is the best as well as the views. The staff are amazing - friendly and always with a can do attitude. Nothing is ever a problem. Have recommended this his place to family and friends and all had expectations exceeded. Planning my next trip for early 2018!

The best part of this restaurant is the view, other than that the food was standard. We chose the Bruschetta which wasn't great. The Lobster pasta was quite nice but served cold, I don't know if this was the point of the dish nevertheless the flavours were there. I ordered Tonno Pizza or Tuna Pizza which I disliked. It was dry, bread with tuna, cherry tomatoes and rocket on top. Nothing like any other pizza's I had before. This place is pricey and we thought we'd get better food. The staff were really friendly though.

Horrible service. We ordered bread and an appetizer along with our meals. My daughter and wife's pizza came out first. Then after 20 minutes, they finally came out with my meal and the appetizer, no bread still. I cancelled the appetizer and bread. They never apologized and made it seem like it was my fault. They also tried to charge for some items I never ordered. The view was great. The pizza itself was good. My pasta dish was not. Do yourself a favor and go down the street further where there seemed to be better options.

LOVED the food! Drinks were strong and delicious. Pizza and pasta carbonara were amazing. Our view was really what made it - we were on the edge of the cafe looking right onto the Colosseum. It was beautiful. Service was a little slow, but it gave us more time to enjoy the view.

Not a great experience at all. The view of the Colosseum was great but unfortunately on this occasion the overall experience was not that great.
The staff were not that friendly at all and the food was not well cooked or fresh.
If you are looking for fresh authentic Italian food with a great service then would highly recommend that you go elsewhere.

First of all you get almost pulled in by the staff, they jump around you with a cute manner, all so kind and polite, almost kiss your feet just to make you stop there. Ok we said, great spot, great view at Colloseum, why don't we stop for few drinks, having our anniversary in Rome. Waiter fetched the menus, we asked for two drinks as we knew what we wanted, waiter noted it down and went to serve others. Cool, heaters above us, lovely view, just us sat down there. And so we waited for 25 minuted, seing other guests getting their food and drinks, we still didn't get anything. It was weird as the waiter who was inviting people in, was 5 metres away from us, as well as a manager (?) so as few waiters passing us by every minute. After this 25 minutes we have asked the staff if they always forget about their guests, they have replied "never" what apparently isn't true at all according to other reviews and our experience. Then we got assured that our drinks are just on the way out and it's just a minute to be served. Ok we said, got some cheap looking crisps on the table, looked like they've been collected from other tables what was left, and then again nothing. After another 5 minutes we just gave up, but I felt guilty that I've made them be bothered about 2 drinks, so apologised for making them a problem, commented that a place called Royal bla bla bla is more Rubish than Royal and set of
So guys, do not think that they want to be nice to you, they want you to feel comfortable and be served in the proper way. This place has an awful service, fake, unreal and dishonest just to make you stay there and pay if obviously you will have anything to pay for, despite the time you waited. Maybe they don't respect tourists, maybe they try to show their sympathy to foreigners, maybe we looked poor or not worth serving? Don't think I want to know
Anyway, bravo, bravissimo Royal Art Cafe for ruining (or trying to ruin) our anniversary night out. Just get that fake smile of your faces and start to be a good cocktail bar or restaurant, or anything your aspirations can only reach.response / report this review -

Great view. Great food with perfect portions. Not rushed even on a Saturday night. A must do one evening while in Rome.

Great ambiance in this amazing restaurant with a spectecular view on the Colleseum.. Staff is amazing Nice en the food is more then great.. Prices are really great for the quality you get here.. 5+ Stars We certainly will come back in our next stay in Rome!

Where to start we wanted a restaurant with a view of the Colesseum and the menu didn't look to bad. Upon entering we found we were the only customers so could sit by the window to look at the view. However being the only customers meant that the 12 staff they had spent their time noisily messing around over the top of already loud music that throughout the hour gradually became more disco-like. The service was poor; the food was tasteless, dry and over priced; wine portions were also small and over priced. To top it all off the view that we went in the restaurant to see, spent its time being blocked by the lady who stood right in front of our window outside trying to entice people into the dreadful restaurant. In short, night was ruined.
