Made reservations for over four people. The service charge was not identified until the end of the meal, not a big deal. Service was unable to split the check. Had to get the menu and help the lady at the desk go item by item. Pretty sure it was a test to see if we would give up and just have someone pay. Totally understand its not the culture to ‘split’ checks. But if we ask before ordering then can you meet us halfway?

Otherwise food was great.

Incredible food and service. Came here twice within 24 hours. Authentic roman food, which was simply delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant, amazing staff too.

Great food, service and atmosphere. The place where locals eat. But you may need to book a table as is was very busy when we went on a Monday night. Would do back again in an instant.

This is a place where locals eat and food is good although very salty at least the ones we tried. Yet is a place to try while in Rome if you want the Italian environment and have some more real Italian food away from the tourist boulevards. Try it.

We tried carbonara with pieces of bacon and it was extremely salty as well as pasta Gorgonzola and it was a. It salty as well but not as much as the carbonara. We also tried the Vesl steak and it was good but not as tender and once again quite salty. Is true that the waiters here are not as nice to tourists and the host / owner wasn't too nice. We went the night before but this lady didn't let more people in the restaurant and is understandable if the place was busy but she wasn't nice about it. I saw her again the next day for lunch and she wasn't nice that day either with other people. perhaps she was having a rough week? Who knows.
Other than that the place is inviting, clean, and lots of food selection. The antipasti selection looked delicious!

Good but not as great as suggested by a couple of reviews. We had antipasti della casa: OK but nothing special. Seafood pasta was a bit disappointed : 4 mussels, few clams et one shrimp. Actually, I don't understand all the fuss around this place.
The restaurant opens only at 7.15pm.

The best Italian Restaurant I have been to. They make their own pastas and the tiramisu is heavenly. Even the wine from the house was good. The price is also reasonable. It was suggested to me by a local roman. Would love to go there again and try the pasta and tiramisu.

The antipasto was amazing. I ordered some spaghetti a la carbonara and while delicious it was too much food for me. The antipasto plate was huge, there was so much delicious food. The service was phenomenal.

I'll start by saying that the location is great: right by the Spanish steps and moments from a lot of shopping. We had a spritz from a local bar before coming to this restaurant, because it only opened at 715. We were lucky enough to get a table for two without a reservation, but it seems as though that's where our luck ended. We didn't get a server to our table for approximately 20 minutes, while the tables on either side of us were served instantly and repeatedly visited by servers. The other tables got aperitifs and little tasters, we didn't. We finally got visited, and we ordered our food and house wine, having had plenty of time to look at the menu.

The food was salty. Both dishes had some kind of stock as a base, and it made the whole dish quite salty. Not that bad though. What really soured our experience was repeatedly being treated differently than our neighbors. Everyone saw their waiters more than once, got treated to tasters, was asked if they were happy, etc. We didn't get that. We wondered if it was our age, but there were a few people in their mid twenties getting good service. We wondered if it was our accents, being from Canada some people tend to mistake us for Americans (against whom some people discriminate, which is a real shame), or my ethnicity as a South East Asian. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive with his other tables, so not sure what it could be. If he was worried that young folks wouldn't tip, he created a self-fulfilling prophecy with his bad service. Wouldn't recommend, too crowded, too pricey, cheese was good but mains were small and overpriced, you can get awesome food everywhere for ten euro less. Stay away if you don't want a stuffy experience.
