Those who have reviewed this hotel badly because of its secluded location are ignorant. Firstly, the location is very convenient, and second if you book a hotel without researching the location throughly, the internet does not need to hear from you.
The facilities are great, and La Medusa provides an excellent, tranquil setting for a relaxed Italian holiday.
The staff are also excellent, and those judging them as surly or unhelpful is equally ridiculous, and shows no sensitivity for the obvious language barrier.
Location isn't good as the area itself is quiet and in a industrial area. Rooms were spacious with a great view of My Vesevious and comfortable beds. Breakfast was good. The only let down was the lunch time menu - extremely expensive (Panini €12-15 and a bottle of water €3.50) and wasn't tasty however the dinner menu was expensive but extremely tasty.
Location and grounds excellent. Reception staff were brilliant. Food below average to poor. Swimming pool and facilities excellent. Room was nice but bathroom dated and started showing signs of wear and tear From the 90's.
Eludes opulence but if you scratch below the the surface, cracks appear. Gardens & pool area are beautiful, restaurant excellent, service staff friendly and attentive, reception scripted. 3* at most.
Wow. Amazing. This really should be 5 star. Very exquisite hotel, staff very friendly, helpful, happy smiling. Highly recommended.
Very friendly staff and lots of them, although of course slight translation issues but nothing you can't cope with! Great gelato and tiramisu, room good size, but forget "sea view" unless you are on the 2nd floor or higher, we were in 102 and the sea was an inch high! Lovely gardens and pool, in the summer can imagine it would be amazing to sip a cocktail under the shade of the trees! Nothing in surrounding area, you need a car, Stabia villa ruins are very close and (apparently) definitely worth a visit if history is what brings you to the Naples area. Downsides, possible ant problems in the summer, unheated pool, and corridor noise coming straight into your room especially the small yapping dog sort of noise
Very nice if slightly old fashioned hotel. Rooms are big and comfortable. Gardens are beautiful and staff very friendly. Food is excellent, but a little expensive. Fantastic views of Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Only complaint, it is a bit far from the sea and the centre of town.
Very charming hotel with a fantastic view from the top floor restaurant. The garden is beautiful, I guess it is very nice in the summer.
Wonderful hotel with a splendid view, enormous garden and delicious food. Concierge services are very good. Some of the other staff could use additional training in order to fulfill highest international standards (they're still good compared to other Italian hotel staff). Overall an almost perfect hotel experience.
