WiFi was down the entire weekend. Towel was not included in the “linens” that they promise in the description, in fact “linen” includes a pillow case (for a sad excuse for a pillow) a top sheet, a blanket that barely covers the mattress, and a torn/shabby strip of cloth meant to be a duvet? Also total of 2 toilets and 2 showers for the entire hostel. The shower never got past passably warm. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Good hostel with nice staff. The minuses are that the road to hostel is gravel and there is quite cold in hostel during night. Ceilings are bit low in down floor. The hostel is on lovely location with big parking space.
Awesome staff, great facility! I love the place, not my loud dorm mates, though
Very cool hostel. You can't get much better of a location and view. It's kind of "on top" of Vik but everything is walkable from it for sure. They give 10% to a restaurant a stone's throw away which was nice as well. It is very welcoming and there's a lot more space than what appears from the outside. They have a nice cozy kitchen area with plenty of seats and the "lobby" has a couple comfortable couches with a winter cabin vide going on. Staff was very nice and helpful as well.
Beautiful hostel with lots of nice travelers. Everyone is exhausted from adventuring so it goes quiet early. They will provide you a delicious breakfast spread and packed lunches if you pay for it! It was totally worth it for us!
Very pricey for the small dark double room. Good atmosphere and pleasant kitchen though.
Only Hostel in Iceland where we had to wait for the shower. The Rest was really nice.
Really nice hostel but located a bit high up in the city. If you're getting groceries or something I'd suggest driving because the climb up is a hassle. But the cool thing is that they have roosters running around the courtyard.
We stayed in a 8 people independent house. Clean, spacious and fully equipped. Good choose.
Lower as possible with price like hotel. Very bad. Bathroom with mold. Tiny room 2 bads. Bottom line even youth will not feel comfortable. See photos and judge alone
Good hostel for your money. Rooms are bit low. Kitchen was well equiped.
Amazing and charming place situated between two mountains, at the top of Vik, overlooking the ocean Great hikes just from there. Fantastic and inspiring owners who can take you for a paragliding adventure.! Plus a really friendly staff preparing delicious waffles ;) All in all, one of the best hostels in Iceland.
Small hostel and again quite pricey considering what it provides (there are cheaper hostels we've stayed in but the HI hostels seem to be pricey all round even if you're a member) if you're a non-member, note that you'd have to pay an extra 800isk per person. Every floor has a bathroom and toilet which seem to be sufficient during low season. Not sure how it'd be able to accommodate during high season. It's a cute hostel in a good location with good kitchen and a huge dining room.
Nice little farm house converted into a hostel. The kitchen is good, way bigger than some other bigger hostel I have been in. The hostel is clean. The employees are nice and helpful.
Excellent hostel - the common area is very nice, kitchen facilities are good, showers are piping hot, and the complimentary breakfast includes all sorts of wonderful homemade treats! Best hostel experience I had while travelling in Iceland
First, the breakfast here was AMAZING. Smoked fish, homemade waffles and whipped cream, multiple kinds of jam and syrup, meats, cheeses and veggies. Soo good. We stayed in the 6 person coed bunkroom. It was clean and cozy. The pillows were a little worse for wear though. There are games you can play in the main area which is cool. The person who checked us out in the morning was really friendly and helped us plan our trip for the day.
Right off the main road, we had no problem accessing this place. It has ample amount of parking space, kitchen is well equipped for travelers who want to cook. The lounge has some board games to pass the time. The wifi was little sketchy.
We only stayed here one night. But all in all I think it was nice for a hostel. There were six beds in our room, and a shared bathroom out in the hall. We didnt use the kitchen facilities. The guests in our room were very friendly and the receptionist was also quite nice. I would recommend if you are passing through and want somewhere to stay with a budget for one night. The roosters woke us up at the crack of dawn, so if you plan on sleeping in, not the best option.
