  I highly, highly recommend turning down this road. also recommend a 4x4, offroading monster truck to survive the road, but I managed with my tiny rental car.
  This massive pothole of a road takes you right up next to the glacier, and is all worth the rough slow drive. Sure you can see it from the view point out at the road, but it is a world of difference standing right next to it

  Great place to stop. Take the little road to the left of the photo area - it's gravel and has some epic potholes, but you'll get a much closer look at the glacier.

  here has a restaurant,the lamb is really nice,for all iceland,it's not expensive,a huge lamb with
  salad is 2850. you should try
