A great stay-

I was part of a school group which came to the start hostel on the 11th February 2018. The staff are very kind and professional-like. Their facilities include a kitchen which is for the guests, an area where you can read, a lounge downstairs and a restaurant where each day they have different food for dinner from Salmon (Which was one of the best tasting Salmon I have ever had : ) ) to Burritos. All the food that I tasted felt like as if I was home. There is also a kiosk at reception where you can purchase snacks and food. The room was a reasonable size and basic, but it was beautiful with an area where you can store clothes. The room is connected to another room and one Bathroom, which is shared ( But there are also private accommodation rooms) .

Overall It was a very pleasant experience and worth all the money. I am definitely coming back.

WOW air line paid for 2 friends and myself to stay here do to delay flights and worst winter in 25 years we thought we were gonna complain cleanest dorm life. 3 beds a nice size bathroom towels only supplied people working here were friendly, kind,helpful
You can catch a bus right outside door take u downtown 3 Kronos we got our food on WOW they cooked for us
under normal conditions they don’t cook. Nice dorm living for a few days

The rooms were spacious and had comfortable beds, hot shower, and towels. The location was close to the airport and is perfect for a 1 night stay if you need to catch a flight in the morning

Spacious rooms, ample facilities like we'll maintained kitchen and lounge. A weird ritual they have is that breakfast starts at 3:30 in the night and goes till 9:30am. Rooms don't have an electric kettle. Overall a decent stay, worth the money spent may be.

Horrible, no TV and phone in rooms, no microwave, no pressing Iron and toiletries. No TV even at the lobby. It's a decent environment and the employees are masterpiece, very helpful. I hope they will improve it.

Start Hostel was a perfect place to stay when we arrived in Iceland very late, since it offers 24 hour check-in. The room was extremely clean and nice. Breakfast was included and very good!

We stayed at Start Hostel at the end of our trip before an early flight back. Great reception and check in, pleasant rooms and kitchen/dining room area. Checkout in the early hours of the morning was smooth. Would definitely recommend for a last night before flying out, or to actually start a trip into the mainland.

Close to airport for coming or going. Breakfast included. Very clean and quiet. Super friendly staff .Private bathroom, linens and room are unscented.

nice location with shuttle service. we took a taxi from the airport for about 3000 isk (30 $)
you can take a shuttle bus back for 950 isk per person. just order it on the front desk. very helpful stuff. we were able to check in on 6 am

Highly recommended!! A perfect location to stay next to the airport. The rooms are clean and really big and comfortable. In consideration of the high prices in Island, the included breakfast (which starts at 4 am!!) is perfect! It's really good and fresh with fruits, eggs, bread, cake etc. There's also a kitchen with lots of equipment and you can take coffee and tea for free whenever you want. We directly reserved a room for our last night to stay there again :)
P.S.: If you have a little time, take a tour to the lighthouse (15-20 min).

This hostel have simple and cheap rooms which are very very clean. Stuff was very friendly and cooperative, breakfast was delicious, you can have free coffee all the time, there is an enjoyable atmosphere in general and it's a good start or end of your Iceland trip. We will definitely come again on our next Iceland trip 😉
