Visited here in 2016 with a tour group, fun stop to take a break and view the power of nature. on the road here you drive over 1 lane cheap made bridges and the reason they do this is because when the flood water from the glaciers come through it will wipe out every bridge they make no matter how strong. the remains at this site show a heavy steel bridge that was destroyed by mother nature. There are also beautiful views of the glacier from this lookout point.
A stark reminder of the power of nature on a road like no other in Europe.
Good for a quick stop to take some pictures of the monument and the area aroundgreat views as always in Iceland
Interesting fact. Quick stop. Enjoy the rest of the view

Interesting history in the immense power of the Icelandic volcanoes!
Pomnik zerwanego mostu - warto zajechać będąc w parku narodowym
Crazy monument to the ravages of nature. The signs here have a ton of mind blowing information on the event.
Interesting little stop along highway 1. It's a good reminder of the fragility of human made structures in the face of nature.
Si traes prisa mejor ni te pares, es la misma vista que tendrás en todo el camino.
Da vedere per capire cosa po' fare la forza di un inondazione
